One of my students took tape from my desk so he could tape his eyes shut...and then lied and said he didn't (with the tape still on his eyes.)
I'm drinking because I teach the 7th grade.
Why are you drinking tonight?

If I wasn't breastfeeding, it would be bc of my newborn feeding 14-15 times a day (lots of snacking) and having mastitis, womp womp womp. Also baby cried about half of the day today, one time which was in the middle of target despite being in the stroller with white noise and paci AND being fed/changed an hour before.
And, gotta love 7th graders
one of my 8th graders just got suspended for yelling during the Honor Roll assembly, "Where all the black people at?" and then cussing at admin. Another one got suspended for kicking a soccer ball inside a classroom, and another one got suspended for poking another student in the back of the neck with a pencil... that was just the past 2 weeks.

@simplyfelicity: ha! I teach middle school too, so I totally get it!
I will imagine a nice bourbon, but will sip on some water (for the next couple of months).

I was drinking this afternoon because it's the last day of February vacation and my husband and I went on a day date!
Now baby is fighting bed and a glass of wine sounds good...

DH gets home tonight after being gone most of this week. We will probably share a bottle of wine after DS goes to bed.

Lol omg!
I'm drinking.... Lemon water w honey because I'm sick and pregnant. Wahhhh

Because my toddler skipped her nap today, and the baby hardly napped out of my arms all day. And DH is getting home late tonight so I'm doing bedtime alone. Unfortunately we have nothing to drink in the house until he gets home but he has already been instructed to pick something up.
@simplyfelicity: really? 7th graders are still that dumb? Though DH told me a story about a time he stuck a paper clip in an electric outlet, just to see what would happen. In high school.

DS was being kind of off today- whining, clinging, not playing at the Children's Museum, etc. He told me he needed to go potty three times and never went. On the third time, however, he puked all over himself, me, and my purse. His spare change of clothes was in the car, and he was freaking out. I had to get him all cleaned up, get the floor cleaned up, and put him in just my coat to walk out of the museum, all while listening to other people complain about how stinky the bathroom is now.
That's why.

@stargal: Thanks. I felt so, so bad for him. I'm doing Whole30, too, so not only did it add to my carb-free crankiness, but I probably won't even have that drink.

I would if I could. But I can't ... So I'm sneaking an ice cream sandwich at 4pm instead

If I wasn't pregnant, I'd be having a beer. I'm stuck at a work event, I'm in my first trimester, and I am flipping exhausted. It's going to be a 13 hour day.

@DesertDreams88: DH teaches 7th grade and in his first year, the second week of school, a kid stabbed another in the neck with a pencil
What is with that age man?!
I'm pregnant so no drinking for me but I'm sure DH could use a few. Poor guy

I'm drinking (hot chocolate) because I'm pregnant and recovering from the mother of migraines today! Thankfully pre-e has been ruled out, and I'm finally feeling a little better.

@meganmp: hugs!! I've been there - puke in public is the worst! Especially when other people complain about it. I hope he feels better!

DS was up at 3:15am for the day, DD2 is getting her molars in and the kids have been home all week on break so...I'd like a big glass of wine.

@simplyfelicity: Sooooo sad. I wasn't a kid person before DS, and I worked a ton, so I really didnt expect to feel this bummed about going back. I'm so so sad this period in my life is over.

Because DH was supposed to be home from his trip yesterday but is getting home tomorrow and since nothing is helping this clogged duct, maybe a beer will. And because my toddler and infant tag teamed wake ups last night.

I'd love a drink after this week from hell (flu making its way through the whole family, toddler home all week, trying to keep newborn from getting it, having a fever myself and trying to parent a toddler and a new born, toddler suddenly being crazy jealous of the baby and acting out, annoyingly high medical expenses for said flu...) but since I still have the flu, I wont. But when I'm recovered... Totally.

I wish I could drink tonight... We just got blocked into a parking lot by a giant SUV limo that someone hired to take a bunch of six-year-olds to Sprinkles When we honked to get them to move forward three feet so we could get past, the dad yelled "get the fuck out!" as we drove by. In front of the kids. Charming. A glass of wine would be nice but I'll have to settle for a cupcake.

Because DD has been super cranky & clingy, & not napping well and up earlier than usual today. We also have construction in our neighborhood so it took me almost as long to get out & back into the neighborhood as it did to run all my errands this afternoon AND I almost got in a wreck trying to find an alternate route.
Definitely worth a small glass of wine after I nurse LO. And chocolate.

I think the better question is why aren't you drinking!

I am not drinking. I got comfy with a glass of wine and the remote after bedtime and promptly started getting horrible stomach cramps and got sick to my stomach twice.
To top it off, I've realized I am allergic to the dog we are pet-sitting, this night really went downhill fast. My husband had to go to the store at 10 pm for pepto and Zyrtec!

We just had one cocktail but I haven't gone out on a Friday night since pre-baby!

@DesertDreams88: That sounds so familiar! We used to take 5 minute walks because that's all the baby could stand before melting down. We would have just worn him but it was Soooo hot.
Yeah, gotta love middle school. Are you going back at the end of the year? At least your kids got suspended. Ours get a pep talk.

DH is drinking - and I would be if I could - because E had diarrhea in her big girl pants today. Oh.my.god the horror!

@simplyfelicity: yep, I have 7 weeks between the end of FMLA and the start of summer break.... kind of an awkward, but manageable length of time. I have a great substitute, which helps a ton.
