There are a bunch of reasons why people cloth diaper.

Save money, potty train faster, more natural than disposable, etc.

What are your reasons? What reasons are not so important.

For me, I cloth because I wanted to save money, back when money was tight. But money isn't the main reason anymore. Though, I like getting a good deal and I know CDing will save us money in the long run. I think the thought of my kids and I putting disposables into landfills (and it being there for 150 years or so) is probably my main reason now. Sounds funny or maybe dumb but the movie Wall-e has impacted me. Plus, living in Seattle, we compost and our trash can is small while our recycling and compost bins that get picked up are big and cost us nothing. So reducing our trash is kinda always in my mind, either at work or home. I'm not against disposables. I do have a stash for emergencies and back up.
I haven't heard people question CDing to my face but DH has heard questions from his family and friends. About how CDing might use more water and power to wash, so CDing is not really better than disposables... In terms of what energy resources we use. I feel like I have to tell the naysayers that I'm not trying to save the world here. I know I'm not. I also, don't look down on people or judge people who use disposables full time.
