LO is 7.5 weeks and sleeps in a bassinet in our room. Every night around 4:30am she starts tossing and turning with her eyes closed, making LOUD grunts and other sounds. She does this for about a minute and then gets quiet for 20 seconds, then starts up again. I used to pick her up because I assumed it was her getting ready to wake up wailing, but after watching her I've realized that she would do this for quite a while if I let her, and it takes a bit for her to actually start crying and wake herself. I try to soothe her by putting my hand on her or picking her up and rocking/bouncing her, but she starts back up shortly after I lay her down. It's so loud I can't sleep so I usually just wake her up and feed. After that she'll go back to sleep for a bit, but is usually pretty fussy until we get up for the day around 7:00am.
Is this just part of the whole 'babies being loud sleepers' thing or could it be something else? I was thinking possibly gas since she can be a bit gassy and spits up quite a bit (especially in the AM). Dreams? Something else?
