I've cut my bangs many times and it never works out, but I want to cut Olive's bangs because she has the forehead to pull it off. Although I did have bangs as a kid and they looked fine then. Maybe bangs just work for little girls.
Mr. Bee says we should grow it out because we've been working hard to grow it out for some time (putting clips in her hair, etc.)

Depends on how she looks, but my mom gave me bangs for the first 10 years of my life and I HATED them. That being said, if my LO expressed hatred towards her hairstyle, I'd let her change it, not fight it like my mom did

I had bangs as a kid and my Mom wouldn't let me grow them out until I finished Grade six. I desperately wanted to grow them out, and haaaated going to get my hair cut all the time just for my bangs. Going to let C's grow, but if she wants bangs I wouldn't be opposed.

My mom was so into the big hair and bangs in the 80s. She gave me bangs and I even have pictures where they were curled and huge! I had bangs until I was a freshman in high school and I wished I had grown them out sooner. I don't have a girl yet, but if i do have one, I plan on growing her hair out.

@Mamabear57 I had the same haircut (I am Chinese American). I had, like, an acre of bangs. It was no bueno!
My LO seems to be developing some kind of strange mullet, so I have no clue what to do with her hair. I'll have to see how it grows out.

I doubt if we have daughters they'll have bangs, but we'll have to see what kind of hair they have. I had bangs when I was little, and by the looks of this pic, I'd guess my mom cut them

All Asian girls need to have bangs! I'm pretty sure that's the rule. I have had bangs all of my life and when C's hair is long enough, she is definitely going to have them, too!

I don't know. Little girls do look cute with bangs, but that's a lot of maintenance. I don't even have the patience to have my own bangs.

I never had bangs...I have curly hair and bangs look weird on me and they have since I was little. DH has curly hair, too, so I am pretty sure any future daughter would have curly hair, and would look weird with bangs. I think they look super cute, though!

Los hair is curly. I'm not sure if the curls will last, dh and I have straight hair. But if it stays curly, I think bangs would be hard to deal with. I'm already weirded out about having to style curly hair.

I would totally give Olive bangs! She has a great bangs forehead. We try to achieve wispy bangs for DD but she has many many a bad bang trim (mostly by my mom without asking me) where it was way too short. I want to try side swept bangs but am not good enough at cutting to do it, and our local kids place probably couldn't do it either, they are terrible!

I did for my first lo because she had straight hair in the beginning but when she was about 2 her hair just decided to curl and now I am kinda screwed and trying to grow them out is a pain! So I will not cut my second daughters bangs.

My first DD had bangs between 14 months to about 2.5 yo. They are annoying to maintain, but cute. And whoever cuts them has to have an extremely steady hand and patience with toddler squirming and all...
Decided not to give 2nd DD bangs... but at 12 months, she started growing out whispy hairs along her forehead, so much so that they look like we gave her a thin layer of bangs! That's what everyone thinks, but she hasn't had a haircut ever. It's really cute. Gonna just let her hair grow out though, I think.

@Mrs. Bee: When you trim them, are your scissors pointing across your forehead, or pointing upwards?
I've read that pointing upwards produces better results so I trim my bangs that way. My hairdresser has even said I did a pretty good job trimming them!
