Doubtful since I'm at a temp job.
: @avivoca: better than no raise!

Sort of? Everyone in our company gets the same amount and it's pretty minimal.
nectarine / 2242 posts
Yes! DH got a 10% bonus and I'm not sure what mine will be yet, this our first year getting them and because of the timing they are basically covering the cost of my unpaid maternity leave, which is amazing.

@regberadaisy: I know, but we have been on a 3-year plan to bring our salaries up to a competitive level within the industry and they have shelved that for the foreseeable future. That's what stings.

@lawbee11: thanks!! Guess i should be more thankful I got anything at all and always get a raise since so many others don't seem to get either.
grapefruit / 4712 posts
Nope no cash bonus but we are getting some gifts. I don't mind tho.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I think we do get our year end bonus around this time; I got it for the 1st time last year, I don't remember how much! I'm on maternity leave now, I hope I still get it!

I just found out I'm getting my first ever! I've never had a job that gave out Christmas bonuses, so I'm excited even though I have no idea yet what it will be, haha. Also, my immediate supervisor gave me some chocolates, and she attached some cat toys to it for my kitties. Made me lol today

DH did! A nice cash bonus was handed out today (tax free!), much to our surprise, and their two weeks of paid time off started at 11:00 this morning, meaning DH was home by lunchtime and doesn't have to go back until Jan 5th. Happy, happy days

No holiday bonus but I should be getting my annual bonus in March. My boss said she was going to get us a gift (a medical textbook) but I think she forgot.
My company does give me from Christmas to New Year's off, so I'll take that paid time off.

One of the downsides of working for a governmental entity. It's ok, though. Our benefits are good.

My manager gave a small visa gift card. He is also taking us out for dinner and a show of A Christmas Carol at the theater here in town. Grateful for anything, not every manager does it. We also get a free 2 night stay at one of our other hotels in our state, a perk of the hospitality industry.

@Ra: Totally counts! I think 2015 is going to be a great year for you. Hope your business takes off and by this time next year, you will be celebrating!

Nope... but for the holidays I got a new job. I start January 5th! Eep!

Yep! First time ever for me--I left the nonprofit sector this year for a different type of position.

Both my and DH's bonuses pay out in March. He found out this week he may not get a bonus- it's up in the air and he is super bummed about it. I found out roughly what mine will be (there are still variables that won't be finalized till January) and I'm happy with it. Now I just need baby to hold out till March 15th (I'm due the 22nd!) when they pay out, otherwise I don't get it until I return from leave.

@reverie: LOL that cracked me up.
No bonus here. We went out for supper and everyone paid their own meal. Ha
I do get 2 weeks off though!

@Mrs. Jacks: yep, my husband a Gov't employee isn't fond of his raise. He says the high earning potential falls on me in the private sector. @bluestriped bee: I'll know about my raise in March too.
@keiki_mama: ooh sorry to hear that.
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@mrs. wagon: omg whaat? Awesome.
I'm so shocked so many get so much PTO around the holidays! That's even better than a cash bonus. It's a bonus + you don't have to work!

I got a year end bonus when I worked. DH does, too. It's common in our industry and a lot of your pay is wrapped up in the year end bonus so it was definitely something to look forward to!

No, since I SAH. And DH didn't but este Lauder is a client and they sent him over a nice goodie bag filled with bumble&bumble, Clinique, Mac, smash box products for women etc.. So in a way I guess I did

I did get a gift box with, among other things, a tin of "chunked buffalo meat...in gravy"!

@oliviaoblivia: lol! All I can think of is how much it probably looks and smells like cat food. Maybe we'll put it in our earthquake preparedness kit, because that's probably the only time I'd be willing to crack that baby open!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@meganmp: haha yes. Bonus? What's that?!
I think I'll just consider our 2 week paid winter break my bonus
pomegranate / 3577 posts
@oliviaoblivia: Ha! I'm saving that for the "teriyaki smoked caribou". Nothing says "Christmas" like eating a hunk of Blitzen...
pomegranate / 3105 posts
nope. we got a "congratulations your manager and 14 contractors are fucking off for two weeks and you get to work".
pineapple / 12526 posts
All I got was an email saying that my spring tuition payment is due by Jan 2nd....

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who LOLed over the thought of getting a holiday bonus.
pomelo / 5073 posts
We got a gift card and a check. It was very wonderful and special to get because our school board and flea market had to work hard to get it.
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
We both got larger than expected ones. It all went towards paying off our car.
