I earn bonuses, but they are not tied to the holidays. The last one I received (paid out) was closer to Thanksgiving. I try not to count on my bonus, but for the last few years that's what I use to fund my IRA instead of saving all year long.

Not for Christmas. We get bonuses though at the end of the first quarter after the previous year's financials are done!

Sore subject. I just got mine today and it's much less then last year, so I'm pretty disappointed. I have an interview after the holidays I'm pretty excited about, and this was kind of icing on the cake to take me from I'll maybe negotiate with my employer to stay (if they want to) to please let me get the job and like it so I can leave! Makes me sad because I thought my current company would be a place I could spend a long time at, but the past year have brought a lot of exciting growth but also unfavorable changes. Okay, sorry for ranting!

Nope. My husband gets his in the spring, so no extra $ this time of year
last year their bonuses were way less than usual as well, so we will be lucky to get anything this year I think.

My husband got a gift from his employer but it didn't come in the form of a cash bonus which we would have preferred. He got a $100 gift card to a fancy hotel in a neighboring city, a $100 for a bed and breakfast, 2 movie tickets, 2 restaurant gift cards, 2 passes for a nearby theme park, and a plush throw. They said it was a date night for us. Very thoughtful but cash is tight this year but oh well.

DH is this year! And in April he's getting an end of the year bonus of nearly half his yearly salary! This is the first year that's ever happened
