I'm pretty sure I will always buy them. I am online shopping for DD's costume now!

I bought LO's costume already!
I may make them in the future.. we shall see!

I don't sew.
I also don't buy things for LO because my Mom loves to shop and has money. I'm a lucky ducky because she also has great taste. I suspect that she will run across a Halloween costume too. She has already sent a hat with a spider and a halloween pajama. I'm spoiled.

I'll be a buyer:) Not talented enough to make anything...And it's too tempting looking at all the super cute baby Halloween stuff at PBK, etc. There is an owl costume that makes me DIE. And I know if Harper was here, she would totally have all stinkin' $50 of it:)

@jholler25: totally with ya! when DD was a baby, she was the PBK bumblebee!

maybe a combo of both. This year my SIL bought DS's costume.

Combo. I don't sew, but I'm crafty enough to put things together. This year she's going to be kermit so I'm going to look fir a cheap green dress and add some bunting, and then buy a green hat and add some eyes to the top.

I'll make LO's costumes. I worked in the drama department's costume shop in college so I've got the skills. My mom always made ours growing up and we would wake up on Halloween morning with our costumes hanging on the closet door - it was always so exciting. I hope my costumes are half as good as hers were.

Definitely buying. I just don't see how I can make something that won't look awful.

I'm pretty crafty but I always buy DS's Halloween costume. I love Old Navy's costumes because they are super warm. He usually ends up with 2 because they are so cute and I can't help myself
We usually go trick or treating twice. Once in my grandmother's neighborhood and then in DH's parents neighborhood.

Buying! My mom made every costume I had but she was talented and creative. I'm not either of those so I would embarrass my children if I made them.

He’ll be too little for one this year but going forward I’m pretty sure that my mom will be making them. She always made our Halloween costumes growing up and loves to do that kind of thing!

Making. My mom is the sewer but I help. She has made my costumes since I was little and now she makes my kids

@Crumbs: What???? They have lost their damn minds if they're charging that much for s/h!

I can't sew for crap. However my mom is amazing at the sewing machine. Clearly I did not inherit that from her. Therefore, I envision that she will be making them going forward.

Right now I like piecing together DDs costumes from some things bought, some made, etc but when she is older if she wants cooler store bought ones, that is fine with me too

@jholler25: International shipping
What's funny is it's supposed to be a discount on shipping, they even crossed out the price in red like it's a sale!

I've come to terms with the expensive owl costume and I think I'll try to make a tutu and buy an orange onesie and DIY myself a fluffy pumpkin outfit. I've never made a tutu before, but it can't be that hard.

can't sew, but i have been buying costumes for my LO at the thrift store these past years. they have a great big selection of all kinds of gently used costumes that I'm sure was only used a handful of times, if not just 1 time, and go for $3-5 apiece. granted if you have something specific in mind, it might be harder to find at the thrift store. this year we got her a tinkerbell costume that she didn't want to take off at the store when we put it on her to try on.

I can sew, but not that well that whatever I make won't look totally homemade. There's no shame in that, but really, my sewing isn't going to make my son stand out in a good way.
I'll buy. I really wanted to make DS's costume this year, but we won't even be in the US for Halloween, so I am saving it for next year. I hope I can find someone to make it for us, because I don't know where I can buy a Swiss Guard costume. If someone can find it, then they get a gold star!
