I've already been shopping online since Kohls has Black Friday deals online already!
I want to browse a few stores but at 38 weeks pregnant, DH is forbidding me to! I said maybe it will help induce labor!

The only way I'd do it is if we needed something like a TV or large appliance that was steeply discounted. We don't, so I won't be shopping. I'm not going to brave the crowds to save $10 on a DVD!

Yes! But online. Hopefully the girls cooperate and nap.

Noooo. I hate that kind of thing, I would rather pay full price and avoid the crowds!
However, I will be checking out certain stores online.

I used to, just because the hype of it all was fun. But now the stores are taking all that fun out of it. Opening on Thanksgiving night and offering the same sales the whole week before? Boring

@mrs. bird: I only did it early because baby is due in December and I was worried about getting everything done! But I also do most of my shopping on-line, so I wouldn't gone out anyway on Black Friday, regardless!

@swurlygurl: The whole opening on Thanksgiving thing really gets to me! It makes me not want to shop there just in protest for how wrong I feel it is. And I know how you feel about the hype and sales, it's the same here with Boxing Day. It used to be a huge deal and the sales were great. Now the sales aren't as great as they used to be, and you can get them about a week before, and a few weeks later. No fun!

DH LOVES Black Friday, so I think we'll go out in the afternoon. One year when we were at my parents' he made me go out at like 11pm on Thanksgiving to Target, but it was way too crazy there. Here MA the stores can't open on Thanksgiving, luckily.

Nope! I was hoping Babies R us would have their Earth's best sale like last year but they aren't. We aren't in search for anything at the moment.

No way. I think it spoils a relaxing holiday and the deals now aren't things that appeal to me either. I very much disagree with shopping on thanksgiving day especially.
I will definitely do some online shopping at some point after thanksgiving though.

I might go to Costco to see what deals they got going, but it will be normal time like 9am. Last year, I went and there was almost no one there. Parking was a breeze, which rarely happens.
If I wasn't hopping on a plane at later in the day, I would probably scope out Target at some point like mid afternoon. Not this year.
But yeah, most of my shopping will be online.

No way - I avoid shopping areas like the plague. I'd honestly rather pay full price at any other time than deal with Black Friday shopping. The deals aren't worth it.

There are very few things we want this year. We will not be going to any stores on Thanksgiving, but we will leisurely go around to stores on Friday.

I plan on going after the "crazies" are done and see if I can find anything leftover, I usually have good luck at Target/Walmart around 9=10 am. I don't need any big ticket items but can get smaller gifts (movies, games, ect.) for a decent price!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
Definitely not. Almost no deal is worth dealing with that much craziness!

I'm really hoping Tea Collection's sale on Friday is a good one! I also may get a mixer for my friend who is getting married next year from the Kohl's sale.

Last year we did some small business shopping in Black Friday. There was an event in our town where musicians put on a progressive show through various stores. Doesn't look like it's happening g this year though.
I like to look for good online sales this time if year, but I have no desire to get stuck in big crowds!

Only running to a local baby boutique for a convertible seat. Otherwise, I'm staying away from those crowds!

Only online. I'd much rather stay home and get the house decorated for Christmas.
The few years I worked retail were enough of the craziness for me.

@MrsBrewer: yes, me too!
Every year I go out with a group of friends. We usually get to the mall at 6:30am to get all the before 9am deals. We shop until noon and then go out for cocktails. I can't wait!

@rachiecakes: That sounds like so much fun! I normally go out with DH, but I think I might go with my sister this year!

Yes! We are the crazies. We go every year super early and wait in line. I hate that everything moved to Thanksgiving Day... it ruined the fun.

@photojane: I like it. It's super quick and I don't have to wake up early on friday!

@anonysquire: Thanksgiving is for hanging with family for me. I want to eat, watch football, and relax on the couch with my family. Friday is for shopping!
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@photojane: where are you going this year? Maybe just go to the stores where they start in w3dnesday? We just do thanksgiving all weekend so it's no problem for us!
