Will you teach him to pull out chairs, open doors, car doors, etc.?
ETA- I don't mean regular manners - i'm talking specifically to be chivalrous.

I'd like to and hope that it would come second nature to him. Even if he's opening a door for another guy or just holding a door for someone...saying please and thank you.

I don't have a son yet.... but if I do I hope he would learn by example. DH did and that was one of the things that won me over. He always opens my car door!

Yep! My DH does these things and he thinks it is important.

DH opens doors for me, including car, and makes sure to be an absolute gentleman. He carries packages, helps people get stuff off of high shelves, etc.

I would teach any kids good manners, of course, including holding doors for people, etc, but I would maybe make an effort with a boy. Like, not extreme stuff, but maybe if there is one empty seat on the train and a man and woman are both standing, he should offer it to her. Make sure to be the first one to stand up when an old person or pregnant lady get on the train, that kind of thing.

I voted yes! We don't have children yet, but I know if we have a son, we will teach him about chivalry. My husband has great manners AND he knows how to treat those he loves. I think I've opened my own car door ... or any door like 10 times in the 7 years we've been together. It's not even that I expect it, he just does it, and it makes me smile every single time.
My husband has this sweet little book his dad gave him when he was younger, called: "How to be a Gentleman", and we'll pass it onto our son(s) one day as well.

DH struggles with this some himself but we will definitely be teaching our son.

Definitely!! That was one of the things that impressed me about DH before we even started dating... he opened car doors, helped carry heavy things, and helping strangers too.
