My son's face has been really dry since the weather got cold. We put aquaphor on his face before bed and naps (or if we are going to be outside) and it seems to help.

Or coconut oil...I feel like that fixes everything

What type of baby lotion were/are you currently using? We were using CA Baby but it didn't seem thick enough to me to handle winter weather. Now we use either CeraVe or Mustela. We also use a little aquaphor on her cheeks if they seem especially dry.

Oh, and the makers of Triple Paste have a cream that's decent. It's ridiculously thick though.

@pastemoo: I have, but when I was in the south, where it wasn't really needed I haven't tried it since moving to DC, but it can't hurt to try!

What kind of baby wash are you using? I find that certain baby washes also dry out my LO's skin a lot! So finding a hydrating baby wash along with a good lotion is key.

We use california baby super sensitive for bathing, everything else was giving him dry skin. I use cetaphil on my cracking knuckles. I also got some beeswax hand cream, which helps the most, but I wouldn't put it on LO's face because it has a really strong scent.

We use Aveeno lotion for eczema. I bought the adult version for both of us to use since the ingredients are exactly the same in teh baby version, but the baby one is more expensive and you get less. We also use Vaseline on his cheeks frequently during the day as they get chapped.

I've been using it on my really dry face this past week, and it's worked great! I used to use Aquaphor before I got pregnant, and that worked well, too.

We all use Eucerin Original Healing. It's super thick and works great. Since I can't use my Rx ezcema cream while pregnant I use the Eucerin and I think it actually works better.

@duckduckkristen: Ditto this. It's been crazy dry and when all else fails and I don't want to use my Eczema ointments, I use the Eucerin Original Creme. It's like a cream & super barrier in one!
