So these wonder weeks....are they called wonder weeks because they last a whole week? And do you find them to be accurate? I had never heard of a wonder week until recently! I surely hope they don't last a week......

I have found them to be fairly accurate. They last a week-ish, although some longer, some maybe shorter, and each baby will be different at each "leap". I think the app is a good way to go if you want to learn more. I think it was $1.99 (? I don't remember for sure) and it gives you all the info you need and keeps track of your LO's age and if they are in a wonder week or not! I bought the book first but like the app better

I think they're called weeks because of how many weeks old your LO might be when it happens. Like, "Amazing changes are happening mentally when LO is about 8 weeks old". I found it pretty accurate.

Different "weeks" last different amounts of time. You can google wonder weeks chart for more info.
Every time I have been at my wits end with LO I've consulted the Wonder weeks chart and we've been struggling with the milestones it talks about. LO is 17 months and I pulled out the book last week. I showed DH and he emphatically agreed that LO met the description completely. I would think I was the biggest parenting failure without wonder weeks.

Some wonder weeks are way longer than a week. I agree buy the app and it explains most of it

I found it accurate! It's kind of crazy. I kept up with them for a while then everything went crazy because of teething so now we just take what comes. I should better prepare myself do the wonder weeks but oh well.

I just bought the app. At the very beginning it asks for the baby's due date. Do you think that should be the day he was born (two weeks early) or the day he was due... I'm a little confused!

@MrsCDH: you're supposed to go by due date, but I found it more accurate when I changed it to her birthdate. I think somewhere in the app, there's an explanation for why they use due dates. I'd start with the recommendation and then adjust if it consistently seems off.

@MrsCDH: You use the due date so it can adjust a bit since if you count from conception, your baby is two weeks younger than their birthday would indicate.
Personally, I had a baby born 2 weeks early too. I entered a kid based on due date, and one based on her actual birthday and I find she typically hits a wonder week somewhere in between.
ETA: so my chart looks like this (Hello, Month long wonder week coming up):

Well I bought the app and there is a stormy cloud! Eeek. Maybe that's why my little stinker woke up to eat at 1150 pm and is still currently awake at 3:07 am. Really girlfriend!

My lo was born 5 weeks early and his wonder weeks have always fallen in between his actual and adjusted age. We never knew exactly when they were coming, but once they hit, we knew it!

they were pretty accurate for us, and most of them lasted a week, although some definately lasted 2-3 weeks!

@Mrs. Lion: Same here. My LO was 5 weeks early, so the times haven't always been perfect. But they made me feel better when I was wondering where my happy smiling baby went. He always came back after a wonder week.
