Do you have a Woombie? Did your LO like it? Hate it?
Our DS can break out of his swaddle now, and the fabric is too heavy for summer, so we are considering the Woombie!

We tried it as a newborn and M hated it. I think it just frustrated her that she could move her arms a lot but not get them out. She did better with the swaddle me which held her arms a lot tighter.

I didn't vote because we never actually used it overnight. I know a lot of people swear by them, but it was so tight around LO and she just seemed so squished! My LO runs warm, too, and she was always sweaty when we used traditional swaddles. So we got the swaddle strap and I it! It was great and the only one she couldn't break out of. She did eventually bust out of it (I still have no idea how), so once that happened we knew it was time to swaddle wean.

@lawbee11: I got a swaddle strap and am excited about it! I'm wondering though - what do you use it over? As in, what do they wear under it?

@spaniellove: My LO ran warm and was a summer baby so we put her in a cotton footed sleeper under the SS. I tried a fleece sleeper one time and it made her sweaty, so we stuck with lightweight cotton ones after that.

@lawbee11: We could try that. Im not sure if he would like it though because he loves to have his hands on his chest under his chin. Even when he is not sleeping, he holds his hands together right there!

We used it with DS for many months then transitioned to the magic sleep suit. I loved the ease of the woombie and DS liked that he could still put his hands together inside.

We liked it as we were transitioning away from the swaddle. She could put her hands near her face and even suck on her fingers through the fabric.
But total disclosure, we used pretty much every swaddle and sleep suit on the market at some point.

I got one when she was a newborn but it was so tight, and such a struggle to get her in it, we only tried once.

@citymouse: have not tried it. Our LO likes to put her hands on her chest too. We dropped the swaddle completely.

Hated it. It was like putting a bag of angry weasels to bed. We had the most luck with swaddles that kept her arms by her side - miracle blankets and halo swaddle sacks.

@citymouse: we used a Woombie when lo broke out of the swaddle. We would double swaddle or used the woombie

She really like that she could suck on her fist in the night in the Woombie.

both kids loved the woombie! thought it was so easy to do a one zip thing, and I really liked that it kept them swaddled while allowing their hips and limbs to have some freedom. they also liked to self soothe by sucking their fists through the woombie.
in the newborn stage we double swaddled by wrapping them in the A&A blanket first, then zipping them up in the woombie. it kept them nice and secure.
