My boss keeps me informed of nothing going on at work because I know she wants me to enjoy my leave and not worry about work. It has been great, but I think is going to make for a hard transition when I go back in a month. How did you transition back into your job?

I'm going to start working at home a few hours the week before to ease into it.

My first couple days back I worked along side someone to refresh and learn all the changes. I was gone a year though.

I turned my emails back on the week before I went back.

I worked in a school and was told nothing while I was on leave. Turns out my long-term guest teacher was HORRIBLE. The transition back was hard, because a of my teammates were bitter about it, but I'm glad I didn't know - what was I going to do about it? It'd just have stressed me out.

It was a cold turkey transition for me. I could actually be fired for working on maternity leave (government work). I had no problem just coming back after a few months and it was nice to not use my brain in the meantime. I had set up an out of office message with replacement people and my manager to contact so I knew they would be taken care of

I checked started reading the weekly meeting notes about a month before I went back. The week before I went back I visited the office to meet with my department head since he was going to be on vacation when I returned.

I checked emails and answered them during my entire leave.

About three weeks before my leave was scheduled to end, I started going into the office for two half-days per week. It wasn't so long to be away from DD at first, and I got up to speed on what was happening at work. I think it really helped ease my transition. As a bonus, it bought me a couple extra days of leave

I was only on maternity leave for a week while school was in session. The rest of my maternity leave was during summer break. I did check e-mail sometimes.

I checked emails a handful of times. Mine is project based so it worked out that I was able to ease back into it when I went back, my boss was good about not dumping a ton of new projects on me at once!
