Oh, and the only movie I ever came close to walking out on (but we stayed just because we had to know if it was going to get better) was Vantage Point. The same exact thing shown over and over 7 times. It was painful. Every time the story would start over, the whole audience would groan. A lot of people left, actually.

I've never walked out of a movie theatre, but I did fall asleep during Gladiator... it was so boring!

@illumina: @BananaPancakes: Whaaaa? How can you fall asleep when Russell Crowe is beheading someone with 2 short swords?! AND, there is one of the best lines from a movie ever . . .
“My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.”
EPIC.

@Dandelion: Word. That was beyond creeeeepy! That is right up there with Silent Hill for me.

@MsLipGloss: @BananaPancakes: I'm sorry I attribute it to being 17 at the time and not having the longest attention span! I don't care much for Russell Crowe either
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Rainbow Sprinkles: I couldn't even make it to the 2nd movie. I laughed through the WHOLE first movie. I laughed and laughed at the story and how bad the actors were. All that even after my SIL told me to forget it was about vampires and just pretend it was a chick flick. Still laughed.
@MsLipGloss: I think I have a major crush on your movie selections.
AND Deeeeeeeeeeen?

@illumina: I have an internal battle about russell crowe. I think he's an amazing actor, but I think he's a real life douchebag!
nectarine / 2765 posts
@MsLipGloss: OMG. I pert near hyperventilated just reading that.
And theeeeeeen?! Was the only redeeming part of that movie. DH & I had an entire conversation the other day where I said "and theeen" after everything he said.

@.twist.: I don't know much about him irl, I just find his acting weird to watch... I was sad he got a huge part in Les Mis, as I was looking forward to that so much... but as it happens he wasn't too bad.
I thought of another one; Australia. DH and I sat through an hour of it on TV recently and then turned it off... it too was really boring
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@LMOG47: Awesome!
@.twist.: Yeah . . . he just happens to be an entertaining d-bag! Besides, I think half of that scoundrel stuff is just for show . . . his street cred and acting status got a serious boost from his bad boy antics.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@illumina: I never watched Australia because I was worried I'd hate it. Just had no interest in it. Part of the reason is because I *gasp* unpopular opinion *gasp* hate Nicole Kidman.
@MsLipGloss: I can believe that. I guess I just don't like how conceited he seems IRL. Maybe I haven't watched enough interviews with him...

@.twist.: I can't stand Nicole Kidman, but I love Hugh Jackman, so I thought it might be tolerable. You're not missing anything!

@mrsmenow: I really wanted to like it - I love stupid movies like that.

@.twist.: I looooved the first Twilight for the awesomely terribleness. My SIL and I still quote it today. The very last one was just as amazingly bad. It was totally worth it.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@BananaPancakes: haha, I really should never have watched the movies. My SIL was trying really hard to convert me. I read the first book and she thought the movie might be a better choice. She was wrong. There's a video on youtube with parts of the twilight movies with sound editing to a lot of farting, and I find it so.incredibly.hilarious. hahaha That's really about the only twilight related thing I like! haha

@BananaPancakes: I refused to jump on the Twilight wagon until I was on maternity leave and there was a marathon. I watched them all over a period of 2 days with every nap and even during night feedings. I only have the last one left, I might have to break down and just rent it instead of waiting for it to be on TV.

@Honeybee: Sadly? I've seen Zombie Strippers TWICE. Once because DH and I thought it'd be campy and fun, and another time at a Halloween party.
@rachiecakes: DH makes me watch this one at least once a year!
@.twist.: Twilight Rifftrax. Like Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (I think even at least one of the same guys) but for Twilight. Also Titanic.

I'm gonna go with Crossroads, that Britney Spears movie from forever ago. I watched the entire thing on TV once. Big. Mistake.
And what was that movie where Jessie Spano plays the Vegas showgirl? Anyone? Bueller?
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@JoJoGirl: Oh! Um..Showgirls! And ditto to Crossroads!
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@JoJoGirl: @FutureMrsMcK: HAHAHAHA - Showgirls! Awesomely awful! That and Crossroads made me think of Coyote Ugly.
ETA: It's a Ver-say-ss!

@JoJoGirl: I thought Crossroads had been erased from my memory forever. I'm sad you reminded me of it! LOL.

Adaptation - a Charlie Kaufman movie. I wanted to kill myself just to make it end! and also (this one should probably go under the movies people love that you hated thread), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...same writer. I find his style just so transparent, like trying too hard to be brilliant or new and edgy, and it just doesn't work for me. But everyone i know puts Eternal Sunshine in their top 10! (cringe!)
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@Pirouette: Reminds me of Eyes Wide Shut. >.< And I reeeeeally did not like Eternal Sunshine!
ETA: Also, for me, Donnie Darko is in a similar vein. I just didn't get it . . . and for that matter, I didn't care to get it!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Pirouette: Well, I will hop in your boat. I never actually finished Eternal Sunshine because I just could not figure out what was so great about it.
Another one I hated was After Sundown http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0442740/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
I got it one afternoon when I was bored from a little used dvd store. I (again) love vampires and on the cover of this movie it said "This years From Dusk Till Dawn" (which I loved). I finished the ENTIRE movie but it took all of my strength not to claw my eyes out. I just had to wait to see if it got better and it.just.never.did.

@MsLipGloss: YES! I hated eyes wide shut too! also vanilla sky (i don't hate Tom Cruise by any stretch, just hated those two movies!) I do like Donnie Darko though, possibly because my roommate was obsessed so i watched it a million times in college, so i know every word...

By far "Vantage point". It was sooo bad, that everyone in the theatre was laughing even though it is an "action thriller"

Both of mine are courtesy of my husband before we married:
"Orgasmo" and "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians". Oh my god they were awful ! The worst part is that DH loves the latter and can't wait to show it to the kids when they're older because he's sure they'll love it just like he did as a kid!
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Pirouette: Oh Vanilla Sky was terrible. I almost walked out of that movie.
