LO just fell off my bed onto my hardwood floor. Apparently he can roll now... He cried for a few minutes, but has calmed down. I fed him and now he is just snuggling with me, but I called the pedi and am freaking out waiting for the nurse at my pedi's office to call me back. They scheduled me an appt for tonight at 7, but said the nurse would call back before that.
Also i cant stop crying.... i cant even believe this happened.

Big big hugs! I'm sure your lo is just fine, esp if he settled down! It happens yo all of us. P fell off the.couch and I was a hot mess for 2 days worrying. And ya know what he is fine just like your lo will be.

That happened to me too. DD rolled off the couch onto our hardwood floors and landed directly on a dog bone. She was pretty upset for a little while, and I was more shaken up than she was. I hope you feel better soon.

@cheert16: aww honey, it's okay. You aren't the first and you won't be the last. I'd share a similar story but its too awful! Lets just say it involves a coffee table, a car seat, an iPad and a hot cup of coffee! LO is okay and DH is sworn to secrecy forever!!!

Awww, hug! This kind of thing happens ALL THE TIME! Babies are a lot sturdier than you would think! I'm sure your LO will be just fine!
If it makes you feel any better, I once basically flung my LO away from me because there was a spider crawling on me! He took a pretty big tumble, although luckily just on the bed, but he was PRETTY upset about it! He's fine now though. Thankfully at this age, they won't remember the mistakes we've made!

Okay, you are NOT the worst parent ever! My son rolled out of bed onto the hardwood floor on his face(!) while we were co-bedding. It was awful. He calmed down quickly, but I was a wreck. I'm sure baby is fine (my son didn't even have a bruise) & you will be too

Hugs! These things happen, you are being safe to get him checked out but I'm sure everything is fine, just needs extra snuggles.

It's okay! It happened to us too. Not hardwood, but she hit her head on the nightstand on the way down to the carpet. We felt so terrible! Fyi while you wait to hear back, our pediatrician said to keep an eye and make sure she didn't throw up and that her pupils were the same size. Don't beat yourself up! It happens!

It's ok and I'm sure that falls and accidents are harder on us than baby! And be rest assured we've all had those moments and were all probably dropped on our heads as children too!

I'm sorry! But you're not the worst parent ever, we all screw up and thankfully, babies are hard to break. I banged LO's head on the car as I was getting her out earlier and it was hard enough to make a thud. Ugh. Things happen.

So sorry but try not to be too hard on yourself. It happened to me too when LO was younger. I didn't know she could roll so well. I placed her in the middle of our bed and turned to get something from our dresser and next thing I heard her screaming. I looked and didn't see her and panicked. Found her on the floor. I was so freaked out but she was fine.

Today is the day for babies to smack the hardwood eh??? I dropped my 2 month old face first onto our floor. I feel so bad and she has a red mark and a bruise...but she's ok. I cried more than she did and still feel horribly about it!! The pedi just told me to watch her behavior and whether she vomits. I'm so sorry this happened to you too!! It's an awful feeling!!

My LO definitely rolled off the bed onto the floor at 8 weeks...not something I'll forget but she's almost 2.5 now and she has banged herself up way worse since she started walking!

Take a deep breath, you are a great mom Get him checked out, but luckily these guys are fairly flexible. Mine fell off the bed the same day he had his first fever, and bounced off his Christmas presents and had a couple bruises and scratches. I felt horrible, but he has gotten into much worse trouble since then.
My pediatrician told me that it's when they don't have bumps, bruises, and scratches that she worries that parents are locking the baby in the closet

Thanks ladies! I brought DS to the pedi this evening and she walked into the room and saw him smiling and was like- he is fine! She said it def would be harder on me than him and after she checked him out she gave me a prescription for a glass or two of wine! And told me to leave my mommy guilt there, that it happened to everyone.

@cheert16: Wanted to send a hug your way in case by any means you thought I was trivializing your LO's fall last week. No joke, this morning my 14 month old flung himself backwards while sitting on our bed (while I was folding laundry - never been a problem before) and he did a back flip off the edge of our bed, landing on his head on our hardwood floor. I'm still shaking and it was an hour ago. He is fine, I am not. Just wanted to tell you that I feel for you, and I hope that with the 6 days that have past that your LO is doing better and you feel better too.
What a fright (even when it isn't your baby's first fall, you still feel like the worst mom, maybe even worse cuz it has happened before...)

@Mrs. Confetti: aww!! No worries mama! We (mainly me since LO was totally fine) are doing much better. I still feel really guilty and disappointed in myself whenever I think about it, but I know accidents happen! I am so sorry to hear your LO had a fall this morning!! Hope by now you both are feeling a lil but better! Hugs to you both!! Keep your head up!!

You're not a bad parent! My 10 week old was cosleeping with us last week and fell off of the bed face first onto the carpet.. She was so upset but it only lasted a couple of minutes... I felt so beyond terrible that I let that happen to her You're okay!!
