I can't open the link (my phone is ancient) but as long as it wasn't something she advertised ti be 'liked' by the kids, I don't think it'd be an issue. Everyone has a past...some people are just more public than others

I didn't read the article but I wouldn't have a problem with it. What a teacher does in with their personal time is not my business. I mean, unless a teacher is doing something illegal, like cooking meth, then I don't care.
Besides, in this case it was years before they were even teaching. I don't understand why people get their panties in a bunch over these kind of things.

I agree, its personal. I can't imagine a 21 year old teaching high school students!

I'd only be bothered on parents evening when DH couldn't stop smirking! Lol!

If my child were in elementary school, probably not, but if they are in high school, knowing that it is common practice to google your teacher, I struggle with what I would say if he came running over to me exclaiming that "miss so and so posed nude, LOOOOK!"

My highschool teacher did pose for Playboy and it never bothered me. One of my classmates found her in a college edition (15year old magazine from his dad's collection)and he took it to school.

I think if she's a HS teacher it would be a little more embarrassing (HS kid can be mean) elementary school not a big deal, I mean not like the kids know what is going on at that age!

yeah the students are the ones who found out about it, they found her nude pictures online.
I think I would be uncomfortable with it if my teen's teacher has naked photos online.

Not at all. I can see how it could be potentially embarrassing for her if she taught kids old enough to find the photos, but if she's a good teacher, I couldn't care less. I guess I'm just not bothered by nude stuff.

I wouldn't be bothered unless SHE made it weird. I bet most of those teachers it would be more awkward for them than the students, but you never know, maybe a few of them would think it was cool/advertise it, etc. So while the majority of the time I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt so long as they were a good teacher, I would still be a little wary!

Nope. Id be totally fine with it. I dont think a woman's body is anything to be ashamed of.

I'd give her a high-five in my mind! Good for her-- I don't have an issue with it at all, but I know it could be hard for her depending on how the students reacted once they found it out.

It would probably make me a little uncomfortable if my teenage son was being taught by a playboy model. But I'm a prude.

@T.H.O.U.: my brother's God father married his HS sweetheart and they met while she was his HS student teacher.
I wouldn't be upset. If her past stint as a playboy model interfered qith her ability to teach and take charge of her class I would move my child.

Nope! What she does/did in her personal life is not indicative of her ability to be a good teacher. As long as she wasn't advertising that information I wouldn't care.

I'm all for confidence and loving our bodies, but I don't think that is what porn encourages, and I have a problem with someone who chooses to participate in the objectification of woman as sex objects acting as a role model for teenagers.

Not at all. What someone does in their personal life is their business. I think it's ridiculous to require teachers to be saints. As long as they do their job well, what they do after school hours (or before they even got hired) is no one's damn business to judge.

Not particularly, but i can't say I would want my teenage daughter finding out and admiring that, I don't want her to glorify stuff like that.

@rattles: This exactly. You expressed my thoughts much more eloquently than I could have.

I don't personally have a problem with it but I know that you can be refused registration in NZ if you aren't seen to adhere to the moral code the professional body believes is appropriate. No Playboy teachers here!
