We have a big giant room as our basement and I'm hoping to separate part of it into a playroom.
Do you think this would look ok as toy storage?? (no TV) I'm picturing baskets on one of the shelves.

Perfect. That's a shelving unit that happens to work for TV storage. The color is great for a play room.

YAY glad I'm not crazy. I am trying not to buy any MDF/cheapie wood stuff but can't afford hardwoods... so metal seems like a nice compromise!

I don't think it would look funny. If you don't live in a teeny tiny place that you need to take advantage of every inch of vertical space, it's perfect!
