... Move in with family (parents and/or sibs) in order to save money? For the sake of this question, lets assume you will not have to pay any of the mortgage and the house is big enough to accommodate everyone (separate bedrooms and bathrooms but shared kitchen and living room).

We did! We lived with my parents for 6 months when we moved back to our city, to save money for a downpayment. It worked out well!

No... just no. My mom is too overbearing and judges my every move. It's exhausting just spending a few days with her--she criticizes everything I do and drives me crazy with suggestions on what I should be doing for LO.

Heck yeah! I happen to have great parents and In-Laws, in that sense though. Everyone's laid back and easy to get along with. I often miss living with my parents... haha

I lived with my in-law's for almost 3 years while dating/engaged to DH. I was miserable, but we saved enough money to pay for our wedding and buy a house. I can't imagine living with them and having a LO. It would be too much.

My SIL had to live with her in-laws for two months while they were between houses (buying and selling houses at the same time seems like a PITA!). She actually misses it! She said it was wonderful to not have to worry about paying bills and all the other house maintenance. Of course she helped out when she could, but apparently it made a lot of difference to not be the one in charge!

No way. My sister did this while they were between selling their condo and buying a house and it was not fun for anyway. And Dh would go insane even faster than I would. So... No.

My dad has offered to let us live with him for a while to save money to buy a house, we'd pay the water and buy food. That's it. It sounds so tempting because we could save money so fast! But I don't know if it would work out. My dad and I are so close now that I'm older, but we have different ideas on raising children so I could see him overstepping his bounderies without meaning to. And I love how close we are now, I don't think I'd wanna risk our relationship.
Every other family member....I wouldn't even consider it.

If we were down on our luck and needed help getting back on our feet, yes. Otherwise no - DH needs his space (ie: lying around in his underwear playing video games on Saturday mornings, lol)

It depends on which side of the family, but I know I would. We have all generally gotten a lot closer as we have aged

Only if I were very, very desperate. I love my family and DH's..... but I also love my privacy and space.
