I wouldn't .... but I'm extra paranoid. I would buy it from someone I knew and trusted, but not from a stranger.

Not unless I knew them. After watching our movers try to put our crib back together ... I'd be worried they forgot a part or didn't realize something was brokenetc.

My friend bought a used crib at a yard sale, and it's worked out great for her so far. We bought a new one, but if was garage/yard sale season, I would have considered it!

I would if it met all current safety standards, had all the hardware & wasn't drop sided.

I bought my ds's crib brand new, he never slept in once. I sold it in a garage sale (before craigslist was huge!), since I experienced forking over $$$ on a piece of furniture we never used we bought our dd's at a garage sale. I have my standards though, no more than 3 years old, not recalled, no missing pieces, no dents, no teeth marks. Most of the ones on craigslist had teeth marks! This was one was perfect.

We did because the crib I wanted had been discontinued...We got a $1000 crib (PBK Larkin) for $500, in like new condition...

As long as it wasn't a drop-side and had never been recalled or anything, yep.

I would, but I don't want to spend a lot of time going to look at crappy ones that claim to be I good condition, which is a lot of what you find on CL around here. I'd still buy a new mattress. If I saw one in great condition at a garage sale, definitely. I would prefer it to be set up so I know it isn't missing anything, after readin these responses

i would. i looked around on craigslist. though i ended up getting a crib for free from a family friend.

Not only would we, we did. It is in awesome condition and even has all the parts to convert it later.

We did and it was the smartest decision.
