I'm looking at potty seats right now for my LO and I saw a few at a local cosignment store that are used but half the price. The one that I want is normally $40 and I saw it for $20. I was close to buying it but my husband thought it was kind of gross? I don't know.
Would you buy a used potty seat?

I wouldn't, but I also didn't want to buy used cloth diapers and many people do that. I feel like it's kind of like the same thing.

Well...I guess if you think about it, unless you live in a new house, someone has used your toilet before. So I guess it is OK?

Those are both good points, but I do change the toilet seat when I move...I am weird like that.

I wouldn't but like pp said, I wouldn't buy used cloth diapers either.
If you husband is against it, could you use a coupon? We got our Baby Bjorn potty seats 20% off at BBB, which use competitor coupons as well. The product is still kinda pricey for what it is. Oh or check a Marshall's type store. I know I've seen them there before!

I got LO's Bjorn seat at Amazon for 29 bucks I think!

I would love to go with the Bjorn seat but my LO is big for his age (99th height and 85th weight) so the Bjorn seat was too snug.
I'm not really into used items either but it seemed like something I could totally disinfect like crazy. And we'd be only using it for a short while. I think I'm just gonna splurge and buy a new one on Amazon since I have a prime account. Wow. $40 for a potty seat seems pricey though. =\
@looch: My husband does the same thing! Whenever we move, he changes the toilet seat (first thing he does). He also brings disinfectant wipes and cleans the toilet seat at hotel rooms. So he obviously thought used potty seats were gross.

@banana: Did you look at the high back Bjorn? DS is big too and he sits great on that one, but the smaller version we originally bought was too snug. I took it back and the sales women claimed he needed "more support". Little did she know he was only 4 months at the time.

Yuck, nope... couldn't do it. Especially when you're only saving $20. It's worth the splurge.
