I am still on the fence about whether I want to have maternity photos taken. I emailed our wedding photog (she does family, maternity, newborn photos, too) to get a price quote from her. Ours was one of the first weddings she photographed (she was a newbie when we used her so we got an amazing deal) and she did a great job on our wedding photos. Since then, her business has grown significantly (as have her prices). But she said that because we are return customers, she'd do maternity photos for $150 (includes an hour long session and CD with all images). That seems like a pretty reasonable price to me. Would you have maternity photos taken for that price? Do you think it's worth it?

If I wanted them, I would definitely do them for that price--I think that's a really good price. I didn't want them, personally, so I wouldn't have done them regardless of the price.

I think that is a great deal for a shoot and pics. I didn't want mat photos (I don't like looking at my pregnant self! lol!) but for that price I might have

I think thats a good price if you really want them done. I don't really understand the reason for maternity pictures (except for maybe one nice shot a family member could take). I would MUCH rather save the $150 and spend on newborn shots.

I think it's a good price so if you want them go for it, I voted no just for the fact that I never had any desire to have them. We decided to save the money and do family pictures instead after she got here (in addition to her newborn pictures!)

If you want maternity photos then I think that is a great price, esp. considering that you get the CD. I would ask her about a bundle package with maternity and newborn and see what she would offer then too.

Agree with everyone else saying its a good price, but only if you want may photos. I'd rather newborn/family photos. Good price though!

That's such a great deal considering you get the CD with all the images also. Some places I have inquired about start at $200 for the session and it does NOT include a CD, which would be like an extra $200-$300! Ouch!

Sounds like a good deal to me. We use a student photographer for all our photos, and she charges like 60$ a session, but she isn't professional of course. I would think 150$ for a professional shoot is a steal!

That's a great price! I didn't think maternity photos were that important to me until my 36th week and I realized I was gonna miss my belly bump. So, I had hubby take photos of me and my bump with our SLR camera and they turned out great. Now Im so glad I have those photos to remember such a special time in my life. I wouldn't have wanted to spend too much money on them though since I was already hiring a photographer for newborn photos, and thats more important to me. But for $150, I say go for it!

@MediaNaranja: @Smurfette: I asked her about newborn photos in the email as well. She said it's the same price for both--$150 for each session plus CDs with images. I guess she doesn't bundle...she just charges by the session? Either way it seems like $300 for both sessions + CDs is a really good deal!

That's a great price, and it's about what we paid for ours. We paid $300 for a "package" of maternity & newborn sessions from our photographer friend. From everything I've seen, that's way cheaper than most people have to pay just for the cd!

Definitely! That sounds like a GREAT price! My sister's friend did ours for free, but we still tipped her almost that much just for her time and effort!
