This is being offered at our daycare and I'm hesitating because I don't know how I feel about my kid being fingerprinted. What do you think?

@mediagirl: I avoid official fingerprints! In case I ever turn to a life of crime.
It would be great to have a set at home though, in case of kidnapping (ugh so depressing to even think of that).

We actually have fingerprints and a DNA swab, picture and 30 second video- the local Masons group did it at the fire house

Sure, I don't think it's a big deal. DH and I have been finger printed for work, anyways. I think it's something I'd keep with their social security cards in the vault...

I would do it. I guess I don't understand why you would be opposed to fingerprinting? It's a morbid thought, but wouldn't it be used to identify a body or in case of a natural disaster and your child is separated from your family.

I would do it. I don't see the problem with LO getting fingerprinted. I assume it would just go on a card that I would keep anyway (and not be stored anywhere).

@808love: They say their name and age and then anything else they want to say - my kids just sat there - ha! Some other kids sang and danced. There was also a big ruler on the wall and the kids stood by it so you could see how tall they were.
I don't remember why they did this exactly but it was part of the package

I'd do it. I don't see the big deal with being fingerprinted. I was fingerprinted as a kid and my mom kept them. And as an adult, I've been fingerprinted for work stuff. It's no big deal to me.
