Too soon, TOO SOON! I would wait until at least one of them could enjoy it.

I am unsure. I've never gone there with kids but I've been there many times and I can't think of too many kid activities/kid friendly restaurants. It depends on what you plan to do there? It is very easy to walk and get around, though. I think Paris is best to be enjoyed when they are older?

@chopsuey119: I think Vegas would be a lot more fun for the kids! Well, for M anyway!

@Andrea: yeah .. I've never been to Paris and am dyingggg to go. Oh wells. We'll go when the kids are older :T

@chopsuey119: I agree with @andrea - Las Vegas would probably be easier with kids that age. If nothing else, you can just walk around all day!

@Andrea: Hah I know. I've been to vegas a million times though. oh well. I never tire of the food and shopping there!

I probably wouldn't choose to go then, but if it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I wouldn't pass it up!

@chopsuey119: me neither. There's always new things to do.

I live in Paris...I say you should go! You may not be able to do everything you would like with two kids in tow, but there are plenty of kid-friendly activities. Actual families with young children do live here, and they survive
I would recommend taking the bus as much as possible though since the metro isn't exactly stroller friendly with all the stairs.

I say go! You never know if you'll have the opportunity to go again.

@chopsuey119: Can you get your mom or sister to go with you to Paris? I think it is doable if you had an extra set of hands!

I think you'd be totally fine @chopsuey! You're a proponent of babywearing, so a 9 month old in a carrier and a 2.5 year old walking with an umbrella stroller as back up. If you buy two seats on the plane for the kids, it shouldn't be too bad at all. Plus, you can always just do picnics and long walks if there's not a lot of kid friendly stuff.

i'm with @looch: if you really want to go! then again i don't have children so i can't fully appreciate what it's like to travel with young ones. but oh, paris!
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@Chastenet: thanks for your comment! would probably wear #2 like @looch: suggested.. and take an umbrella stroller.. :T
@Rubies: i'm sure mom and sister would love to go, but not sure if they'd be able to! it's still a ways off so we'll see!

@chopsuey119: eeekk my 30th surprise was going to be a trip to Vegas then I got knocked up! my husband said maybe we'll redo for my 31st. Wouldn't it be awesome if we were there at the same time??? Bday's in May
How long is he going to be in Paris?

I've been to Paris dozens of times, and I think it's total baby friendly for low maintenance moms.
Don't expect to use your Bob or UppaBaby there, but it's very walkable and easy to get around. If you're going in the Spring/Summer/Fall there are tons of nice outdoorsy areas to play and have picnics. You should be fine at all the major tourist sites with kids in tow. I say go for it!!!

I voted no! I went to Paris with my sister when I was 18! It was very overwhelming and everything is so new and different, I just can't imagine taking little ones along as well!

@regberadaisy: ooooooh.. vegas is the week of may 6th!! when's your bday?
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@chopsuey119: oh em gee. May 5.
Woot! Woot!
And unfortunately since we decide we'll be staying home for M's first Christmas there likely won't be any more ATL trips before the ILs move back. So a ATL meetup will be slim to none.

@regberadaisy: oh that's right! you're the cinco de mayo baby! you guys should totally go!! we'll meet in vegas and take the kids to the m&m store and circus circus!

I went with my god-daughter when she was eight months and again when she was three. We had such a fabulous time, you should absolutely go!!!
p.s. it's crazy to ever turn down Paris.

Even if they can't tremember it, I'd still go because I would remember it and take pics and video for them to see later! Though I totally am the traveling with kids type... it's definitely not as fun as my pre-kids days, but we make it work! My eldest has flown on 16 flights at the age of 4 and my little one, 5 times at the age of 1... It's not my favorite thing being on a plane with them, but if you plan well and have low expectations, it's not so bad most of the time
Paris is a major city with good public transit, so I'd go for it! I'm a city girl though, so that totally sways my vote. If you had said camping or going out in the country or something... with two kids, I'd say no! But that's just me!

i wouldn't but i'm not tough. there are many moms much tougher than i am that could totally do it!
that's the exact age of charlie and olive right now. my mom wants me to fly to la with them by myself, and i'm even too scared to do that!

I agree about the good public transport being key...if you can rely on the trains and metros, you don't have to worry about car seats in rental cars...which is my absolute biggest stressor while traveling.
