Charlie's birthday is on December 10th, which means he'll be 4 when he starts kindergarten. A lot of parents hold their sons back one year when they have December birthdays because they feel they're not emotionally/physically mature enough. A kid born in January is sure to have an advantage over a kid born in December after all at that age.

Girls are typically not held back because they tend to mature faster, and being small is not as much of an issue as a girl I suppose.

Would you hold your son back a grade if he had a December birthday? What if you felt he was emotionally/intellectually immature compared to other kids?
