Hi!
I finally decided to cave and join the community. I thought it might be fun to do a little q&a. Feel free to ask me anything. I think it might help everyone to get to know the newbie. I'm not that shy....only a little

A little about me: I work as a traveling, live-in nanny and I love it. I'm a former nanny to seven children. Yes you read that right! I want to blog about it but I always seem to discourage myself. I love skiing, swimming, photography, reading, learning to cook, and making new friends.

@chopsuey119- I am single. I've been super casually dating but once the summer ends I plan to dive right into dating. It was hard to meet someone with all the traveling I had to do this year.

Wow! Where have you traveled to with your family? How old are the kids you nanny? What type of things do you do - everything from waking the kids up to putting them to bed at night? Or do the parents do that and you just help out during the day?

@Googles-eyes- I've worked with quite a few families so I will just do my past and current family.

Past family ( who I was with for 3 years!)
Best- They became my family and taught me so much. I really love how they could tease me and I wouldn't feel insulted. Gah, I miss them. I just love there twisted sense of humor.
Worst- Sometimes something little and silly could set them off. I'm very passive so at times that was hard but we loved each other so we always got over it.

Current (a year in August)
Best- they the most thoughtful/ caring people I've ever met. I once mentioned I wanted to read Gone Girl but the library had a long wait list, so she bought it for me to read!
Worst- I can't really think of anything. No really.

@Katsupgirl- hmmm, I guess 4-7 because they can play with you. I like all ages though. It is really fun watching the 1.5 year that I currently watch old grow up.

@rahlyhah- I grew up in ma.

@regeradaisy- the mom and dad are still married but are currently living in two different places. When mom needs to travel for work, I bring baby to Dad. It isn't ideal but we made it work.
I do work with children so I'm not completely out of place. I think I have valid things to add and I love learning new techniques and stuff.

@Mrsck- none of my own yet. Hope to be a foster parent once I get my own place in future.

@mediagirl- see this is why I need to do a guest blog she is 1.5. I will add more in a bit.

Id love to read more about your experience nannying for such a large family as well!! Is nannying something that you can always see yourself doing? It must be so rewarding!

@running elley- I have no idea. I'm only 25 but for right now I can't picture doing anything else. I can also picture staying with this family forever. Granted I'm sure I will eventually move out but right now I don't plan on it anytime soon. I do have a degree in creative writing and journalism, so this job gives me the ability to make money and write on the side. I just need to be more strict about getting the writing done

Hello! I would also love to read a post about your nannying experiences. I was a nanny for two years in Paris when I was in my early 20s. I only had one little girl to look after though.

@boogs- I only travel between two states but I've had other job in NY, IL, and Australia! I am very happy with the money I make. The job offers a lot of perks too. I think my favorite thing is how my bosses often accuse me of not putting in enough hours. Like, are you sure you only worked X hrs last week. It doesn't seem like enough. That is a nice change.

@lamarinere- that is so cool! Hopefully I will be able to do more traveling abroad. I will admit It was so weird going from 7 kids to 1 kid. In my opinion, the more kids the easier the job.
