A nanny! I don't mind cooking, especially if someone is already occupying our LO.

Cook 100%!!!
Cooking is not at the top of my like list, but even if it was I don't think I'd ever want a nanny.

Cook.
I'd rather be responsible for my children and let someone else prepare meals. I love to cook, but it's not as important to me. Cooking is usually what I give up in terms of chores.

Cook, I want to spend as much with my little guy as possible! Food always tastes so much better when someone else makes it.

I'm a SAHM (studying) so if want a cook.
If I WOHM, I'd absolutely want a nanny to stay with my baby and pick up around the house, also to give us a date night on and again.

A nanny who cooks? Lol!
Totally, a nanny. DH and I love cooking too much to give that up and I have zero ability to ever stay at home. It would be nice to give DH a break now and again.

Nanny... Then I could cook great meals. Our nanny will often just be an extra pair of hands while we all interact, so it's not like it would take away time with the kids... She just gives me a second pair of hands to change a diap, break up a squabble or help clean up toys.
Come to think of it, I'd take full time house cleaner over both these options!

Because I work and go to school I would say nanny.
Having been an nanny I know how valuable they can be. Clean up while kids sleep, making meals for the kid(s), transportation and taking them fun places, developing meaningful lasting relationship with the child, and generally making life a little easier.

@Mrs. Jacks: yup- I'd take a cleaner over either if these! But if I had to choose I say cook. I'm happy to let someone else do all the cooking and clearing up after meals. With the baby, I'd be constantly watching to see if they were doing things right anyway! (Now at least- she's only five weeks old!)

A cook 100%. And I like to cook. I just hate having to meal plan and then grocery shop. So I'm including those things as part of their job.

I voted cook, even though I love to cook. I would save SO MUCH time if I didn't have to go to the grocery store, meal plan, and put it all together.

@Foodnerd81: I have turned into a total neat freak, much to my partner's disappointment... And I just can't settle until we have things in order! It's grinding me down

Nanny! I was just thinking today how much I wish we could afford a nanny for LO!
My husband is my cook

@BananaPancakes: yes, that has to be part to the job, too. Oh how I dislike meal planning and grocery shopping!!

@Mrs. Jacks: The first thing I thought was "I'd take a housecleaner over either cook or nanny!"

Cook, I would love, love, love to have someone prepare awesome meals for us every day! I like cooking but I'm not the best, or even that good, at it (:

@artbee: yep that'd be ideal!
I think if I had to choose I'd say nanny! I don't care so much about what we eat, but an extra set of hands would be nice!
Eta I'm answering as though I was a WOHM which I am almost.

Nanny, but only because then I wouldn't have to pay for child care! If both were equal and I didn't have to pay for child care, probably still nanny. Although I'd prefer a maid (option 3? HAHA)
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
Even though I really like to cook, I'd still want one of those!
honeydew / 7687 posts
@kjpugs: same! I choose maid! I love cooking and I love hanging with my baby.

I love cooking but I'd pick a cook... mainly cuz once this baby is born, I wanna be the one raising it.

How about maid/cleaning lady?
I don't think I need a nanny and I really friggin' love to cook. I would miss cooking so much.
Now, dishes and laundry and bathroom cleaning I wouldn't miss.

@BananaPancakes: Spot on. A cook who meal plans and does all the shopping is a must!
I'm all for the cook - I'm assuming in addition to the planning, shopping, and cooking, this also includes preparing three meals per day, right? Right, then a cook it is!

The way I'm feeling right now, I need a nanny. I'm worthless in the 1st trimester, much less trying to play "chase" with my toddler. I would love for someone else to be able to expel the energy to play with her.
