I have a dentist appt tomorrow and I didn't even think about finding someone to watch R while I went. I was just going to bring her in the infant carseat to hang, but then I was second guessing it. I do this all the time at the chiropractor, but we're there for way less time. I asked my neighbor but she's unavailable. I could ask around some more, but I don't know that I can find someone easily.
Do you think it's a bad idea to bring her? Any tips for making it easier for me?

I have to go on Friday and I scheduled it for a Friday so DH would be home. I have to get X-rays so there was no way I would take her and have her in the room.
Anyway you could time it so she naps while there?

I wouldn't recommend it! Reschedule if you dont have childcare. Like a pp mentioned xrays wont be able to be taken with a lo in the room and you wont be able to attend to los needs!

@Smurfette: @yellowbird: i didn't even think about xrays! i was just thinking cleaning! i haven't been in a year, they got me in on a cancellation (next scheduled appt isn't until september!) and they will definitely do xrays! i called around and found a friend that will watch her! thanks for talking some sense into me!

I guess my situation is unique, but the hygenists at my dentist specifically told me to bring the baby, She said they love babies and there are plenty of people to entertain the baby while I'm getting cleaned (I hadn't thought about the xrays though). But my dentist is pretty close to DH's work, so I figured I can time it so he can come over and be with the baby while I'm getting cleaned anyway, even if I bring the baby in so they can ooh and aah over him or her.

@Foodnerd81: yeah, this place is so flipping busy and i don't know them there, otherwise, i would think the same thing! luckily i found someone bc DH works shift work all day tomorrow and no time to help!

I had to take my toddler recently. He was pretty good and sat on the chair in the room with me. He kept saying "mama say aaaaa" and it made me want to laugh while the dentist had his hands in my mouth.

Eh, if your LO is easy and can just chill in the carseat for a while, then go for it. I couldn't have done it though because there's no way DD would have been quiet for long enough.

I don't think it's a huge deal to bring your LO, although I know you said you found someone to watch her. I brought mine in his stroller. I had to get xrays done which they do in the same room as the cleaning, so they just set me up with my bite wings, wheeled him out of the room for 2 seconds, took the xray and wheeled him back in. He loves being on the move so he didn't mind at all! He slept through half of the appt and played in his stroller for the second half. They loved seeing him and I wouldn't hesitate to bring him back, although once he starts getting mobile I'm sure he won't be as happy to sit in his stroller.
