I'm a big dog kind of girl. I'm too scared that I'd step on a tiny dog. And they tend to bark more, my dog very rarely barks.

I like big dogs too. Except for some reason, I've always ended up adopting little dogs (mainly chihuahuas). I never carried them in my purse though.

I've carried around tiny puppies in a purse when we used to foster. Surprisingly I never had one poo or pee in there

When I was a little kid, I snuck my chihuahua in my backpack and brought it into Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I fed it pancakes during the entire meal, and no one noticed.
I wouldn't do it now, I'm not a fan of little dogs anymore. I want a giant dog.

i wouldn't want a tiny dog - too yippy. i wouldn't want them in my purse! nasty. unless i get a "purse" just for them. which would be a cheap purse.

I have a little chihuahua and I have carried her in my purse before. But she hates it, so I don't do it anymore.
@tequiro21 you can train little dogs to not be yippy. That is one of my pet peeves. My chihuahua never barks unless she is playing with our big dog.

I've always wanted a teacup poodle. My current dogs are 9.5 and 22 lbs so a little big for a purse now, but they were carried as puppies. Our smaller one thinks she is a human baby (the bigger one acts like a baby, as in wimp) and always wants held in the cradle position. She also loves to wear her PJ's

If I had a little dog, yes, I probably would carry it around.

i have a 5-lb yorkie poodle mix, and I carry him in a purse/carrier but only in the winter. In the summer, he walks everywhere. He used to bark a lot but we trained him not to. He's the sweetest, and I love being able to take him almost anywhere!

I never really understood this...I mean I get it if youre in a store or an airport or something, but why carry them when you're walking in the street?? Unless there's something wrong with it. I don't know...and I REALLY don't get the doggie strollers and the doggie bjorns--so bizarre IMO.

@hilsy85: In the winter if there's salt on the sidewalk, it hurts my dog's paws and he'll limp around when he gets home. Also, sometimes it's just too cold for him to be walking around a lot. But if the weather isn't too cold, windy or rainy, he'll walk. I also think the dog strollers and bjorns are funny, and would never use one!

I have a 6lb dog. She walks! I do have a pouch carrier for her though when I go to dog functions (volunteer) that are all day and she gets tired and cranky I put her in. Not often at all though.
