How do you feel about yard sales? I love them. I like shopping them and am currently setting up for one this Saturday. So much stuff to get rid of!!

I like them! I don't stop very much these days though because it's a pain with kids to get in and out anywhere and I had one only once in my life. Only made like $450 or so but got rid of a lot of stuff.

Love them! When usually do them with our whole family during our yearly city wide sales.

Meh. My local area has several extremely active "swip swap (buy, sell, trade) Facebook groups, where you just take a picture of whatever you want to sell, and post it with the price and your cross streets. Then, you handle actual sales through facebook messenger, leave the item on your porch/doorstoop, people leave money under the mat. If it's an expensive item you could arrange to meet face to face.
I imagine your girls are quite helpful though when moving, or when you have kids.

Do not like going to them. We're not allowed to have them in our subdivision (HOA rules) so I rarely see them anyways.

I don't mind going to them, but I don't like to get up that early.

I've never had one, tend to donate stuff to local resale stores as I found it and it doesn't feel like letting it pile up and selling it for a few cents per item is worth my time. Probably I'm just too lazy But I do love craigslist, it takes some effort but I have bought and sold a ton of stuff on CL! Similar to yard sales I guess, but I dislike shopping in general and don't like digging through stuff to find just what I want.

Read over my earlier comment and saw a confusing typo... When I said your girls, I meant yard sales!! Gosh, autocorrect.

Love! However, DH hates them. A lot of old people have them around here and they like to talk a lot

I haven't been to one in ages. As a teen I used to go to estate sales with my mom. We scored some awesome stuff- evening wear, coats, vintage records, gilded formal China, and accent tables. I should seek them out again and try to get some cool art for my walls.

Love them. My grandfather was a publisher, specialising in republishing rare, out of print and out of copyright books. He and my grandmother would go out for 4-5 hours every Saturday without fail to find these books (as did his competitors). I loved when I went with! It did mean the entire large, extended family had learned to expect bizarre Christmas presents!

Since I live in a city, you don't really see them. Instead, I use a local FB buy/sell group and the local craigslist-like site. I recently sold a ton of stuff through those two channels and occasionally find deals for my LOs that way.

Depends on what's for sale. If it's good/decent stuff, I enjoy browsing. Otherwise, not so much.

@farawayyama: I look for books (rare, first editions, old, etc.) at yard sales too! Found some real gems for almost nothing!
I love going to estate and yard sales, but hate hosting them. I also don't like having to get up super early on the weekends to hit sales at like 8am - so I don't go that often.

I like them, I prefer small town ones, so I always go back for my hometown, DH's hometown (they do an annual big one where everyone has one on the same day.) I get a lot of holiday decorations and stuff like that turning this time! I've taken stuff to my friend's before but never had one of my own.

@mediagirl: LOVE LOVE LOVE lol. I went a whole bunch this summer and had one of my own and got rid of a ton of crap (+ made over $200) it was great!
