Is your family drama? Yes, no, maybe?
DH's family- YES!
BIL, MIL, FIL...I have no idea how my DH is normal. Or maybe he just hasn't snapped yet?
My family- NO! I still argue with my mom about silly stuff but they aren't very dramatic.

Not really. Both our siblings have their dramatic life moments but they keep us out of it.

It very much depends on the situation. My sister is VERY emotional and throws fits like a child (she's 7 years older than me) but my bro is super laid back...he does have some social anxiety and OCD but he just lays low because of it.
DH's family aren't emotional people, they just aren't super reliable.

Mine - Yes, a thousand times yes!!! Everything with them is drama.
IL's - just my SIL, everyone else is great

ILs, I had no idea what drama was until they came into my life!
Mine, not my immediate family, but some in my extended family

Yes on both sides. But both sides have died down substantially in the past 2 years or so, thank GOD

ILs: pretty much never
My family: Pretty much constantly, going on 20+ years now!

ILs: Yes. Always. And if there's nothing going on, it seems like they pull a problem out of thin air.
Mine: Yes. They are just...melodramatic and constantly complaining about the same problems but never really doing anything to fix the problems.
I really don't know how DH turned out normal...and he doesn't know how my siblings turned out crazy.

My family: not with my parents and siblings, but extended yes.
IL's: sometimes, mostly SIL

We each have a couple of family members that cause some drama. But as a whole it isn't bad.

My family- yes, sometimes it's like out of a movie. DH says he doesn't know how I turned out normal.
IL's- nope!

Yes on my side, no on his.
I love my family and always loved spending the holidays with them. The first time I spent a holiday with DH's family I realized how calm and relaxing a holiday could be! I still love my family but would honestly rather spend holidays with my in-laws.

My side: not really
DH's side: constantly....MIL is a pot stirrer....

In-laws = daily drama. It's gotten to the point where DH is actively distancing himself from his own mother because she brings nothing but drama. DH says it's a cultural thing.
My side = relatives have their problems but drama ain't one

Only DH father, he is the only drama, so he isn't in our lives.
Other than that we have lovely peaceful family lives

No on both sides. Well, my dad's siblings occasionally have drama but we don't see them often and he always stays out of it so I don't really count that.

Nope, both are pretty "normal." Our extended family is drama (his mom's side & my dad's side) but luckily our immediate families are both normal.

DH's family should have their own reality show. The only drama in my family comes from my sister. She is a total drama llama.

My mom and stepdad - rarely
My dad - sometimes (he likes to create guilt drama)
My ILs - often, they overreact about everything and everything is a disaster
My sister - rarely
My step-siblings - live for the dramz
My BILs - occasionally

My IL: NO
Mine parents & siblings: NO
My mom and dad's extended families: OMG INSANE.

@pui: I agree. I think all families have drama. Some may be worse than others.
pomelo / 5509 posts
A typical amount of drama on both sides. Nothing extreme, just occasional annoyances with my MIL being manipulative and laying on guilt trips, and with my own mom being melodramatic. I guess it's really just the moms...
I believe all families have *some* type of drama throughout the years.
