Thanks to @mrs high heels I bought the program for a steal the other day. I just dl it yesterday and am working through setting everything up.
For those that are using it. What are some of your best tips to get the most out of this program for this newbie?
I do plan to check out the site and blog!
Also, how do you keep keep track of daily spending if DH isn't quite on board with entering everything after every single transaction?

@locavore_mama: I hope you enjoy it, we have really enjoyed using it so far and have seen improvement in our finances.
A couple of tips...
1. Sign up for their online classes which are free and cover the basics. They are great for helping you to understand how to use all of the functions of the program. If you don't have time to do the class when it is scheduled don't worry because they send you a link for the recorded class afterwards. http://www.youneedabudget.com/support/training-and-education
2. Don't worry about trying to set up too many categories right from the start. As you continue using it you can add something later if you want to be more specific.
3. Reconcile your account balance every time you are in the program. This helps avoid errors and missing transactions.
As far as daily spending... I do all of the entering into the program. My SO won't use the app and we make all of our purchases with our debit card so I just input transactions from our internet banking. If he doesn't want to put the transactions in maybe he can just bring home the receipts for you to enter.

I don't use YNAB but i follow a similar budgeting program. I download all of our bank/visa transactions which allows me to itemize all of our purchases. Since we only take out cash once a month for fun/random/small purchases, i don't worry about it (it's the same set amount each month).

Great tips from @mrswin: ! I think you already heard enough from me the other day. 
DH also doesn't enter anything in the app so I do all the entering. I just go on my computer nightly and login to each of my accounts to manually reconcile because I like to be as up to date as possible. I hate missing transactions and trying to figure out why my balance is off my X amount of dollars.

It's a work in progress for me. I've been using it for a couple months and love it but I know I'm not using it exactly as it was designed to be used. I didn't have enough time/attention for the videos!
DH enters a little, it's easier for me to do most of it though. He has the app so he can look and see what we have in each category though, which he agrees is easy and helpful. Good luck!

@locavore_mama: my DH wasn't on board at first, and was resistant to learning anything complicated. I asked him to give me three months to prove it was worth it, and in the beginning all he had to do was open the app and look before spending money. Now he loves ynab and enters all his own stuff. I still manage the main program on the computer though, budgeting our money, adding categories, adding in our paychecks, etc.

I just downloaded the free trial.........I wasn't doing well with a spreadsheet so I'm hoping that having the app on my phone will help!
