Haha, sorryto laugh but it's so hyperly true with pups. We used to joke that we should just run them less so they needed less. We'd go out to the woods on the weekend and go for a 10 mile run and they'd be running circles around us the whole time and by the evening be like lets do that again. It does get better and it's good they have each other to wrestle with.

It's hard but it's good you're getting them out and they're moving. I just took our youngest pup (4 yo) to the vet and she kept commenting on what good shape she was in with good muscle tone and lean. She was saying she sees a lot of dogs start having health problems already at 4 bc they aren't getting the chance to run and wrestle and play around.

They will calm down! I have a Boxer who just turned 3, and while she's still pretty hyper and playful, she's soooo much better than when she was a puppy

We have a lab/golden mix, and he really calmed down between age 2-3. Wearing him out playing ball, frisbee, etc or going to the dog park helped keep us sane in between

We have a 4-year-old boxer/pit mix (so very high energy!), and she really started calming down around age 3. When she was a puppy, we did 2-3 walks a day, dog park a few times a week on top of that, plus doggy daycare once a week, and she was still pretty nuts. Now, at age 4, she gets 2 walks a day (20-30 minutes each, longer on the weekends, with an occasional third walk on some days if it's nice out) and is pretty lazy around the house for the most part. I will say that we are pretty stringent about sticking to her walk schedule, and I think that helps.

Our Lab took about 3 years to become calm. After 3 he's been a big lazy bum Until then he was a mess!

I think it depends on breeds too... I have a beagle/pekingnese mix, there is SOME level of calm down by 3-4, but I'd say 6+ started to be the best years! I do miss the puppy craziness but she's def so much easier being more docile.
