I am looking for some advice on a changing table pad and covers. Originally, we thought we would get the PB Kids ones, but they seem to be a bit pricey for what they are. Any suggestions on your favorites?!
Also, how many covers does one really need?

We have the standard one from Babies R Us. We have 3 covers. For the most part we only have 2 on rotation, one in the wash while the other is on the changing pad. But there are those days when the third is necessary. We've even had times when we've gone through all three and we've had to just put a towel on top of the changing pad..... but I wouldn't go out and buy more then three because that's very rare.

We have the standard one from Babies R Us too. And we have two covers as well. In the beginning there we times when we could have used three but that wasn't too often so we just stuck with two and are fine with that.

We have a solid surface changing pad, I adore it. I use the simple terry covers from IKEA on top though, just in case there is a pee accident...which we've never had in 21 months.

We have the Cooshee baby changer. I LOVE it! Our DD loves to pee and/or poo while we are are changing her, so the fact that I can just wipe my changer clean has been very convenient!

I got a Summer Infant one from Amazon for $15 and it's awesome. I think it'll last a very long time. I have two covers. I keep that in his room and use the changing table from the PNP downstairs. Once the PNP is stored away I will be using the folding changing pad that comes with the JJ Cole diaper caddy. That's what I did with my oldest and it worked well bc at some point I will have to use my leg to help hold my LO down while changing poopy diapers. Haha! They will start to wiggle insanely as they get older.

I actually have the PB changing pad and cover and I love it! I know it's on the pricier side, but I think it's worth it!

I'm still pregnant, so I cab't tell you if I like it yet. It doesn't require a cover though and can be wiped clean, similar to the cooshee, which I haven't been able to find.

Have standard pad from babies r us and like it. I have 3 covers (really only need 2) and they're the carters velour ones. Love them.

@Chastenet: We have the Cooshee, too. It is awesome! My son pees on the table constantly, and has reflux (so pukes often while getting changed), so it has been a lifesaver. We had a regular pad with a cover before and it was ridiculous how often I had to change it.

We have a standard BRU changing pad and Carters Velour covers (I think it's called Super Soft or something). I love the covers! They are affordable, very soft, and have held up well in the wash. We've had ours for over 7 months now and it's still as soft as it was when we bought it. We have 2 so that if one is dirty or gets pooped/peed on, we have a back up while it's being washed. Would highly recommend it!

The Cooshee or something similar is the only way to go if you don't want to add to your laundry load. My LO is 15 months and I still use and adore the Cooshee, which looks exactly like the day we bought it.

The only thing I wish I'd considered is getting a three or four sided pad, because DS squirms so much that his head ends up at the end of the pad and we have to scoot him back down. We have 3 of the natural organic cotton velour changing pad covers from BBB. We bought the third last week because he got two dirty in one day.

@tororojo: Are they already sold out again? That was quick. I'd call or email their customer service and be sure. I ordered one when they weren't yet back in stock online by calling. You can ask them to email you as soon as they have more and they'll sell you one before they get stocked. But they were sold out for months before I got mine (like 3 months ago) it might be like that again.

we have 2 covers from target, actually - circo brand. pink and green. i LOVE them. so soft!! they fit perfectly on my changing pad (which is the organic 3-sided one from BRU).
I do put a blanket on top of it though and those have been changed REALLY often. (the little thin gerber "swaddle" ones). so if I didn't have those down, we might need more than the 2 covers if I didn't want to do laundry 24/7.
btw, my daughter is just shy of 2 weeks - so this is thinking of newborn blowouts/spitups/open-air pees.

we just use the changing pad that came with our changing table. it isnt contoured, but the changing table has high edges, Most days i just wrap a blanket around it, I never bought a cover for the changing pad.
