After seeing my RE yesterday, I will be starting Femara next cycle. I am very excited but also a little nervous. I would love to hear success stories, if anyone has them! How many cycles did it take?
Also, if you are taking Femara now, any side effects?

No success story yet (currently in my TWW) but I'm on my second round of Femara.
I've had no side effects whatsoever. I took Clomid for a month prior to starting Femara and the difference was night and day. I can't believe Clomid is even prescribed anymore with as great as Femara is. I also had better lining and follicle development on Femara than with Clomid.

@LittleLovebug: 3 cycles with iui, we eventually conceived with ivf. I think our issue was more with dh than me though!

@MrsKRB: I believe my RE stated I will be trying 3 cycles as well, and moving along from there. DH (reluctantly) got tested and his tests came back normal. Hopefully, I'm the only issue and famara does the trick!

@mrskansas: My cycles are irregular and normally pretty long ( 40+ days). All blood tests and ultrasounds came back normal. The RE believes I am not ovulating and after testing a few months with no positive ovulation tests, he suggested femara. No official diagnosis though

@LittleLovebug: That's pretty close to my situation. I do ovulate but I also have loooong cycles. No other (known) issues.
Will you be monitored during your cycle?

2 cycle of Femera the second coupled with an IUI was successful and I am now 14.5 wks. No side effects other then a little bit of dizziness the first cycle. My RE started me off on 5mg and I produced 4 follicles, on 2.5mg I only produced 1, but it was obviously a good one. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism if that helps, my husband has no issues.

@mrskansas: Yes, I will be monitored. blood test before and after taking the pills and I believe an ultrasound(?)

@LittleLovebug: I’m on my first cycle of femara too. Last month I took Clomid and ovulated, but no BFP. I’m currently on CD10, and I haven’t had any side effects! Fingers crossed it works for you!

@Jessiemuller88: Writing back to you since @LittleLovebug is my bestie and I know she is currently busy taking care of her almost 3 month old baby boy. I'm not sure she really checks HB anymore...
Anyway, it did work for her and on her first cycle! Her little one is proof of that. 
I also took Femara for 4 cycles and the last one paired with IUI worked for me so let me know if you have any questions! Good luck to you!

I took Femara for two months, first at 5mg and then at 2.5. I didn't have bad side effects, just one day while on 5mg where I was in a funk I couldn't seem to shake. But otherwise it was fine. Femara wasn't a good fit for my body though, and we've had a better response this month with Clomid and though I was afraid of the stories about Clomid side effects, I felt great on it. FX for you!

@afc061018: that’s great the Clomid is a better fit for you. I got pregnant with my first using Clomid, so fingers crossed for you! My doctor started me off on 7.5mg, and I haven’t had any side effects except the cramping today. Clomid made me extremely emotional. I hope this is our month!!

@LittleLovebug: Diagnosed with PCOS, tried for 13 months with #1, got pregnant on my third cycle of femara.
Went on femara again for #2, currently 6 weeks pregnant! I got pregnant on my second cycle.
Side effects for me were headaches, a bit of fatigue and a bit emotional.
