my three year old doesn't seem to have a preference at all! she has a few of those large disney hardcover 5-minute stories and loves us to read those at night. lately she's been into this cookbook style book, that came with her pots and pans set (Learning Resources, I think). she calls it her menu.
we went to the library a few weeks ago and I tried to get her to select some books to take home but she wasn't totally getting it!

She loves the Little House series. She has four now from the series. I asked for them fr Christmas. I will likely get her two more for her birthday in April!

We have one Amelia Bedelia and my son really likes it. I need to find more. We also have one from The Magic Tree House series and I didn't realize it was a series, so we have one from the middle. I want to get more of those as well, and start from the beginning.

I was thinking of starting Harry Potter, but I think I might hold off on that for a while.

@looch: the issue my Mom ran into with Harry Potter (for my younger sister) was that my sister got hooked, but the books later in the series weren't as age appropriate so then she had to figure out what to do. lol.

Right now she's loving the unicorn chronicles. I change some of the phrasing and skip over some paragraphs and stop to define a lot of words. But it's a really fun series.

E is loving the Olivia series (in the book Olivia has a LOT of similarities to E hahaha) and maybe your oldest would love it due to the character 
We've also done the Pinkalicious, but they are a little mature for her she grows board. I like the Fancy Nancy books too, they are cute.
