I love candy corn for sure, as does my entire immediate family (I'm talking about the one I grew up with, not the one in my home). But the buck stops there. I don't know any other people that like candy corn, most people seem to hate it. But if we're talking about Halloween only and not candy in general, I'd say it's accurate for me! (I'm in Texas BTW)

I'm definitely not a Sweet Tarts fan but I guess the rest of NY is?

Skittles...they are my 4 year old's favorite so I guess it rings true for her! They aren't my favorite!

@Mrs. Sunshine: Not from Texas, but I love me some candy corn! It's the best part of Halloween for me. I may or may not have already eaten four bags of the stuff since the beginning of September.
Mine isn't right for me. I'm not a huge fan of Whoppers. I prefer candy corn and Reese's

Candy corn for Texas... I'm personally not a fan! I prefer swedish fish and sour patch kids.

I have a hard time believing that PA's favorite is Swedish Fish, given that both The Hershey Company and Mars are based in Central PA and I don't remember ever getting more than one or two bags of Swedish Fish in my candy bag, but always had tons of Hershey/Mars products! Regardless, it's definitely not right for me. My favorite is Reese's peanut butter cups (actually, the pumpkins because the peanut butter in the shapes is different and so much better!).

Are they trying to say Maryland likes Almond Joys? I can't think of anyone who was happy about getting those in their trick or treat bags!
As for Massachusetts, I guess we like Starbursts. But I would definitely lean more into the Reese's camp!

@youboots: I was going to say, I thought everyone liked Reese's best unless you had an allergy. Like I thought it was a given!
@psw27: I also really like almond joy! Starburst are ok but not my favorite.

@Foodnerd81: even as a kid you liked them?! I feel like those and mounds went right to my parents! hahaha
@youboots: Reese's for the win. All day. Especially the pumpkins/easter eggs/whatever seasonal shape they make that has the perfect PB chocolate combo.

Before reading the comments, I came to post Reese's. I can see why they chose 100 grand though. We have a lot of gamblers and Vegas lovers that live here.
I used to live in WA when I was a kid and Airheads has got to be the kids' preference. The adults don't eat candy.

@youboots: those pumpkins are damn near magical. Even better then the normal Reese's cups.

Pixy Stixs? Negative. Apparently I'm supposed to be living in Hawaii, - I'm okay with that especially if they like the peanut butter Snickers!

You guys would all be shocked to know that my husband doesn't particularly like pb at all, but REALLY dislikes it mixed with chocolate. He calls it "ruining the chocolate". We went to Hershey a couple of weekends back, and DH kept saying the whole time that Hershey makes all the worst chocolates in the world, haha.

Lifesavers? LIFESAVERS!? Lame. I can't even remember the last time I had one. And in the last 4 years trick or treating, we haven't received any.

@pregnantbee: right?!! thats not even a candy! it's like a breathmint! no way, I want a re-count!

Based on sales? What's really interesting to me is Toblerone in Arizona. And 100 grand is my absoulte favorite, so I belong in Hawaii!
As for me, I like peanut butter and I like chocolate, but not together.
nectarine / 2690 posts
LOL I've never had a Toblerone, so I have no idea. I like Twix and Snickers best for chocolate, or skittles for non chocolate.

@oskarsmommy: Right!? It doesn't even register as Halloween candy. Grumble.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@psw27: I love Almond Joys! Though as a kid I probably preferred Mounds.
Mmmm, Reese's Pieces. I definitely love them. I really hope LO2 outgrows her peanut allergy in part so I can share the love with her!

Nerds...gross.
Although in all fairness, I usually buy something gross like that to give out so that I'm not tempted to eat it myself

@ocean81: @psw27: I can't remember Almond Joy as a kid, so probably that's right that they weren't a favorite then. But Reese's have always and will always be a favorite. Last year when C was trick or treating she kept choosing nasty dum dums of something instead of reeses!

ew! Candy corn is one of the most foul things on the planet - no way!

@fancyfunction: ihad the same reaction about sweet tarts, yuck!
@Anagram: sour patch kids are dh's favortie!
I grew up in Michigan and while m&ms are not my fave, they are super common and I'll take them any day over my current state's sweet tarts pick
