@Mae: LOL I sometimes crave the fake Chinese food too! Orange chicken is so yummy!

@Kimberlybee: It's a textural issue for me. I've tried a few different more-legit chinese places and the meat is always questionable IMO. I always order chicken and it generally seems overly fatty or chewy or tendon-y or something…. can't do it.

@locavore_mama: Oo what Korean place? We're in that area of Queens often & have some favorites!
I'm jealous that you can get food in Chinatown and LES! So many good options!

@snowjewelz: I will ask my SIL for the name! I know they just opened. It's amazing but JUST BBQ so no other Korean entrees. The waits are pretty crazy on the weekends and they don't sit until your whole party is there.
We use to have a favorite Korean restaurant but they closed down a little over a year ago. Which ones are your fave??
My SIL's mom lives in Chinatown so she goes frequently and will buy us food to have when we get there.

@locavore_mama: For BBQ we usually go to BBQ village for all you can eat. We like going to BCD for tofu pot, we also eat at a bunch of the restaurants on Springfield Blvd (Korean & Viet). We love going to this Taiwanese place in Bayside, I forget what the name. I still love the food in Flushing but I rarely going because of the traffic & parking!

@snowjewelz: My brother lives super close to Springfield / Horace!
Yeah, the only time we venture to Flushing now is when I want Malaysian. ETA: But I think we'll def have to go this time bc I'm craving "kung fu tea"!

@RubyCali: @luckypenny: I like California cuisine, too. To me, it's healthy and flavorful food that takes its inspiration from all types of cuisine.
I also love Italian and Mexican food!

@RubyCali: I think it's a fusion style with an emphasis on local seasonal ingredients. I think it has to do with presentation too.

@sarbear: I just realized Wasabi does Saturday lunch specials too. We need a Saturday lunch date, stat.
I can do hot entrees or cooked sushi.

Beer? Can I say German for the pretzels and beer, haha? Or maybe pub food like @Mae!
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@kjpugs: haha, no, my friend. German food is SO much more than just pretzels, beers, wursts and schnitzel. We were in Germany for 3 days and ate our weight and then some in food. Amazing. I would be ridiculously fat if we lived in Germany and happy for it!
