Does anyone else think that Zulily doesn't actually have the best deals? Sometimes on really popular name-brand products (Uggs, Legos, TOMS, etc) they have quite an awesome deal. Other times though, when I see a toy or gift on there that I like - it's usually cheaper on Amazon! AND Zulily has crazy $$ shipping...

I agree. The shipping doesn't make it worth it most of the time. Plus, it takes FOREVER to ship!

I agree. I've only bought one or two things from Zulily, one of which was a NY Giants sandwich container for DH. Their deals don't seem so magnificent most of the time.

I agree! I don't understand the hype - the few times I've seen something I want to purchase I've been able to get it even cheaper elsewhere!

Zulily royally pissed me off while I was pregnant, so I've only ordered from there once since then. Their "deals" aren't really deals and their shipping sucks. Can you tell I'm a tad bitter??

I really stopped looking there. My biggest issue is that the shipping takes FOREVER!

Totally agree. I can find better deals on other sale sites and sometimes I find the same thing cheaper on Amazon!

I agree. I've only ordered one thing and it took two months to arrive so I haven't ordered anything else.

I have yet to see an actual amazing deal on Zulily once shipping is factored in.

I don't even look there anymore! I ordered a book that had sound buttons, and several of them didn't work! They wouldn't let me return or exchange it. I'm not a fan!

Agreed. I stopped even looking at it. Almost everything is the same price or cheaper on Amazon, especially when you consider Zulily's ridiculous shipping. And I hate waiting two months for things to arrive!

I have gotten good deals on shoes - the trick is you order a lightweight item 1st and then place all your other orders since they will ship free.

Agreed. I ordered a few things, it took forever, and I wasn't really impressed with what I received. I need to unsubscribe.

I do what @Mamaof2: does; order one light thing, and then the other items ship free. I've used them for certain things -- personalized plates, for instance, and a dress for E once. Most of the time I research the thing they're offering and see if I can find it elsewhere cheaper.

I've gotten great deals, but I always check amazon first. I'll check the brand website if there is one. Sometimes the stuff on Zulily is on sale on their regular website with cheaper shipping. If I see something I love, I'll get something else cheap for the cheapest shipping, then order whatever else with the free shipping you get for the rest of the day.

The last thing I bought on there was a Jellycat doll for Sis that I was going to get anyway. After their 'deal' and shipping it was still cheaper than buying it anywhere else, but only by a couple dollars.

Their shipping cost generally negates any discount.

I double check pricing on amazon. And I only order if I am buying a couple things to justify shipping.

@swurlygurl: yep! I wanted 2 pairs of shoes - shipping for both was $9.99 but shipping for 1 was $5.99 - so I ordered one then went back and ordered the 2nd pair shipped for free!

I've gotten great deals on there. Recently, they did a blowout deal where I got a toy bookcase shelf for half of what it normally costs. I got our changing table on there for at least $100 less than what we were prepared to pay and registered for. If you follow a few brands, it's worth it.
I sort of treat it like Amazon Prime with the paid free shipping. If you see things you need or desire, free shipping and a wait time isn't that big of a deal. I order from there knowing that it'll take awhile to ship.

I don't order from them because of the glacial shipping speed. I guess Prime has spoiled me, but a seriously, three weeks for some kids' crap is no bueno.

I always cross check with other retailers and the actual website to see if I'm getting a deal. I find some items you are only saving a dollar or two but you get over charged because of the shipping.

Most of the stuff isn't worth it, but I have gotten a few good deals. I keep an eye out for things I know I want/need, I don't but anything I'm not familiar with brand-wise. Also higher price items tend to be a better value - bigger discounts and the shipping doesn't totally negate the savings.

I think it just depends on the item. I bought a hair straightener for 11$ because mine broke, even with shipping it's cheaper than the store. It's def hit or miss and annoying how they place a group order when deal is over THEN Zulily ships it--this taking forever!!!

In general, I don't think they're worth it... and not only does shipping take forever and a day, but their return policy is horrible too.

agreed. i feel like unsubscribing, but i don't want to miss some incredible deal. i did buy some sneakers for myself that were a great deal, but everything else i've found cheaper or not worth it with the shipping and no returns.

Their shipping makes their "deals" not really deals. The only thing I would personally buy from their is a certain brand of shoes for LO because those usually are a good deal and I can't ever find them anywhere else. But, they never seem to have sizes and almost never sell them.

I like to browse... I've ordered maybe twice from them now? It's usually on brand name stuff that's actually a good deal (I think I got Toms last time) or weird stuff they you can't really find anywhere else. I agree that their shipping ($ & timeframe) sucks!

I've been having great luck with them lately, their shipping has really sped up. It used to be 4-5 weeks, but now I get most things in a week or two. I'm pretty happy with them.

There are a few brands that I keep an eye out for, and they are generally a good deal. And I always buy a pair of socks or something, to get free shipping for the rest of the day. For example, Nui organics makes really nice wool clothes, and when they are on zulilly they are usually priced below what they sell for when they go on sale at NUi. Not by much, and the final markdowns at Nui go below that but by that point the sizes are all gone.
Some brands definitely seem to use it to clear out old season stuff. Zutano is another brand where I've gotten some legitimately good deals.
