    @MapleMoose: Great news about LO being happy and healthy in there. I"m sorry about the placenta previa and pelvic rest! Did they give odds on it correcting itself?

    @psw27: The OB didn't give me any odds. But she did say that baby is not affected (until delivery) so try not to worry. The silver lining is I get another peek at baby around 30 weeks so there's that!

    @MapleMoose: I have a friend who had placenta previa. They checked around 30 weeks and it hadn't moved, but by 34 weeks it had. She ended up having a complication-free vaginal birth.

    @lilteacherbee: Thank you for sharing that story with me! Makes me feel better. I guess it really is a waiting game right up until the end.

    @MapleMoose: You're welcome! I was about to give her some c-section tips (I've had two) and she was like "well guess what?! It moved last week!" I think she was surprised, too.

    @MapleMoose: So excited for your Thanksgiving gender reveal! My work bff had placenta previa diagnosed at her anatomy scan and by 30 weeks it moved. We were both freaking out when she found out and did lots of googling and HB searching which implied that it moves a very good majority of the time.

    @MapleMoose: I've had placenta previa every successful pregnancy. So far with the first two it moved. We will see Tuesday if it has moved yet.

    @lilteacherbee: @JennyPenny: @littleblessings: Thanks ladies! I'm feeling more hopeful that it might resolve in time.

    @MapleMoose: I'm sorry about the placenta previa and pelvic rest! I hope it corrects itself. While I don't have experience with that condition, I have csection experience if you want to talk about it. Try not to worry, there's still a lot of time to correct itself.

    @ValentineMommy: Thank you! You're right, worrying won't change anything, it's really just a waiting game. I'm a professional worrier though!

    @MapleMoose: You and me both!!!! I'm sitting here googling/freaking out about the possibility of having placenta accreta. I have no idea why I do this to myself lol

    @ValentineMommy: I hear you. I was googling all the complications that are more common with an anterior placenta when my friend point out "uh, you don't even know if you have it yet...."

    @bubblegum: Hopefully soon!

    @betsyr24: Welcome! Sounds like you've been having some rough symptoms. Any movement yet?

    @betsyr24: welcome!

    Had an appt today and heard the heartbeat clearly this time! Last time, I couldn't hear it too well, but my Dr found it and said he heard it. So that was nice to hear it for real this time! I made my anatomy scan appt for Dec 8th! Which is my mom's birthday, lol. I can't wait!

    @bubblegum: Oh man, so jealous. Potty training is the big question mark on my to-do-before-baby list.

    @JennyPenny: It's all thanks to my MIL. She started watching him this Monday and will do it until the holidays are over. We're hoping to have him potty trained before the baby comes...if possible!

    @bubblegum: Exciting! We potty trained LO1 at 2.5 and he caught on super fast (with pee at least...poop is another story 😩).

    @bubblegum: We've talked about trying the Oh Crap! method over one of the holiday weekends. I don't think he's ready for doing it next week. *fingers crossed* for Christmas.

    @JennyPenny: Ohh and what method is that? I bought the 3 day potty training book and knew got around to reading it lol I'm the worst. Thank god for my MIL.
    Has he shown any signs of being ready?

  24. JennyPenny

    nectarine / 2460 posts

    @bubblegum: Might be another version of the same thing - its a 3-day method. We got him a little potty a few months ago and he asks to sit on it maybe 3-4 times a week to "go pee pee" He'll announce "I did it!" then toss a piece of TP into his empty potty, then flush the real toilet. So yeah, he's definitely showing signs, but hasn't quite got the mechanics of actually going yet

    @JennyPenny: How stinking adorable is that!!! I'm sure he'll get it down pack very soon. I hope you don't have carpet like we do.

    Got my first little kick tonight. Until now it's been all big rolling which felt too similar to digestion to be 100% sure, but tonight I got a few little thumps

    @ValentineMommy: @JennyPenny: Google is not our friend right now.

    @betsyr24: Welcome! Sorry you're having a rough pregnancy. I hope your symptoms ease up soon.

    @abbydabbydoodlebug: I'm so glad you heard the heartbeat clearly this time. It's such a wonderful sound!

    @bubblegum: Hopefully you will feel those little kicks soon! And Congratulations!! Potty training is a huge accomplishment!! I may have bribed ODD with stickers and M&Ms at first. Oh well, it worked!

    @JennyPenny: Horay for movement!!

    @mrsmacSLP: Awesome!! You'll have to post a picture of your gender reveal cake. It's great that the timing worked out and we can announce when the families are gathered together.

    The OB called and said I need to come in for another ultrasound. Apparently baby wasn't cooperating and they need to get a few more images. I'm not sure if they are just being thorough or if something was flagged besides the placenta previa. But they can't fit me in until the week after Thanksgiving! Thank goodness I have the upcoming holiday and our gender reveal announcement to look forward to because I can't help but worry. And I'm glad I have you ladies to give me pep talks during the 1.5 week wait!!

    We had our 20 week scan yesterday - baby is running about 10 days ahead and has some minor (we hope) kidney issues for which we'll see a specialist in 4 weeks. On the bright side she gave us our first profile shots and we got to see our first 3D renditions

    @MapleMoose: At least you get another look at baby! Can't wait to hear what you're having!

    @lilteacherbee: Yes, the silver lining is extra peeks at baby. Gotta stay positive!!

    We've had a pretty emotional night in our home, with nothing we can do. We had our anatomy scan tonight and the tech got rather quiet and went to get the radiologist. We have two issues we are being referred back to a specialist for.
    1: two placentas with the one without baby sitting under baby. Apparently two placentas isn't all that uncommon but sitting closer to the cervix is the issue. This can apparently lead to hemorraging during birth.
    2: the umbilical cord that connects to the placenta is actually attached to the cervix and then to placenta through membranes. This can lead to low birth weight.

    All in all, we don't know what's going to happen and I'm really struggling. My best friend drive the hour to visit with me tonight because my husband called her. Love that man. I'll update when I know anything further. Until then, here's a photo of healthy babe.

    @mrsmacSLP: Gosh sounds like we both got some rough news at our anatomy scans. Thank goodness for wonderful DHs who know us and know what we need in those times like this that really count. What's your plan for follow-up? Rescan in 4 weeks?

    @betsyr24: welcome!

    @yellowbeach: @mrsmacSLP: I'm sorry about the news. I hope everything turns out okay!! We are all here for you!

    @yellowbeach: We had the last appointment on a Friday so we don't know what's happening. I'll be calling my midwives first thing Monday morning. The radiologist did say there's a chances the extra placenta may dry up and then it's not a worry. Lots of extra scans to check baby growth.

    I've broken down every time I explain what happened. But for now, babies head and feet are measuring perfectly on track while body is a week behind.

    @mrsmacSLP: I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope the specialist can give you more info and hopefully ease your worries a bit. Hang in there
