@buttermilk: Several times at first, then as they stop pooping at night it lessens. I stopped doing diapers entirely at night around... 5-6 months if I remember correctly? Unless of course he randomly pooped, but that rarely happened.

oh, update on the never ending morning sickness...ditching the iron in my prenatal has been working!

@buttermilk: We're doing the Rock N Play in our master bedroom for the first little bit, and using the Pack N Play (with newborn napper) downstairs - I figure if the Rock N Play ends up not working for night time sleep, we'll just switch them up and move the PnP upstairs.

@krispi: I swear, my little guy can be kicking up a storm but as soon as I have my husband put his hand there, he stops! We got lucky this past weekend though - DH was laying with his head on my belly while we were watching a movie, and he got a random kick in the head. Have fun on your trip to Florida - I bet a little rest and relaxation will feel sooo good right about now!

@buttermilk: We had LO1 in the rock n play at night until 5ish months and them transitioned him to the crib with no issues at all. We'll probably do the same this time.

As for diapers, I think I changed him every time he woke to nurse for awhile and then less frequently as time went on. Now, he sleeps from 8-6:30/7 and I don't change him at all unless he randomly wakes up (which doesn't happen often anymore). I'll usually check him before I go to bed, but most of the time he's not wet yet.

Okay guys thanks for all your advice! I'm thinking a smallish pack n play is the best bet then. Looking at the Nuna Sena Mini which has a bassinet attachment!

In other news, I just peeled all of my clothes off within 10 seconds of arriving home. I swear I feel twice as big as I look. Went out shopping looking for a fancy blouse to pair with this chiffon skirt I have for a gala I have to go to next week. Found nothing! And I started rolling my eyes at all the stores with stairs. No thanks!

@buttermilk: I had to go to a black tie event last weekend--I ended up renting from Rent the Runway! I have a wedding this weekend too. UGH.

@Mrs. J: I had the same problem with the iron with my first! I take pregvit and the vitamin is split in to a morning dose and a night one. The morning had the iron in it which was hard on my stomach so I swapped the doses and took the iron before bed and it worked. Sometimes if I would take it and get delayed in going to bed, I would feel some nausea but now that I have it figured out, it's the last thing I do before bed and I'm good. Maybe try at night time?

@buttermilk: I feel huge too! And I don't know why but shirts that I wore until the end of my pregnancy last time are already getting too small this time?! WTF! Going to need to invest in some clothes which I've been avoiding haha.

@krispi: That's cool that your DH is actually interested in classes. Mine is definitely just going to make me happy, but he doesn't hate it. They cover infant care at some point, which I think he'll be glad of. He's held a baby all of twice in his life. And maybe being on vacation together will make it easier for your husband to feel the baby! DH felt her move a ton when we were on the cruise, because he was actually with me all the time. Usually he's not around when she has her really active times, but since he was always there he could actually catch it.

Okay, seriously, what has this child done to my organs? My right side (literally my side, about where my elbow hits when my arms are straight down, not the right side of my front) just growled. Loudly. And I could feel it. What's even over there at this point?

Regular OB appointment today. Nothing too exciting. Glucose test on 5/15 and I really hope I pass because I do NOT want to deal with GD again (and I want a smaller baby this time! Ha).

@Mrs. J: So, apparently I'm up 9lbs this month for a total of 19 Definitely don't believe that because I just weighed myself at my mom's yesterday and I was 5lbs less. The same thing happened around this point with N and the next time I went back, I'd only gained like 2lbs, so it all evened out. Crazy doctor scales!

Just wanted to share that I had my anatomy scan yesterday, and it's definitely a BOY

That is what the doctor guessed at our NT scan, but it's great to know for sure! We didn't get a lot of pictures because he was face down, butt up the whole time. But he is looking good and that means we get another scan in a few weeks!

Happy to help add more boys to the board!

I had an OB appointment today and my Dr went over my anatomy scan. Baby looks great but I have a complete posterior placenta previa and he says a 30% chance of accreta. He will schedule me for a 37 week RCS in a high risk setting but let me know that there is a chance of bleeding and earlier delivery.
He ordered some scans for me around 28 and 32 weeks with a specialist.

    FX!

    @LauraBear: Yay, congrats!!

@autumnlove: Oh no, sorry you're dealing with that Does he think there's a chance your placenta will move?

@lilteacherbee: he thinks it is very unlikely!

Wow, we seem to have all the accretia mamas! So glad that you ladies are together for support!

Baby girl has been moving like crazy, but whenever I try to get DH to feel her, its like she KNOWS, and won't move! Does this happen to any of you? DH thinks she doesn't like him!

@autumnlove: oh my goodness! It would be frustrating for me to have a doctor say there's a "30% chance you have it." I would just want to know! Thinking of you.

@Mrs. Microscope: LO did that just a few minutes ago! She doesn't do it all the time, but it happens. R did it a lot! I had an anterior placenta last time, so he had a hard time feeling her anyway, and every time he tried, she stopped!

What's everyone craving? I want cold frozen fruity things. Like smoothies and lime Popsicles!

@OhCaptain: I'm currently in a chocolate phase! Particularly chocolate shakes. While pregnant with LO1 I was pretty much addicted to maltesers! (the chocolate) so it will be interesting if that happens again.

Looks like I'm developing a cold I was going to book in to get the flu vaccine this week after seeing my midwife but looks like I'm too late. Have a dreadful headache and starting to get sore sinuses.

@OhCaptain: pineapple! Frozen yogurt with fruit. Cannot WAIT for summer peaches and melons!

  31. Mrs. Microscope

    pear / 1788 posts

@MrsStar: Chocolate shakes! I have been wanting one all day! I told my kitties if they made me one I'd let them have some vanilla ice cream, but they just stared at me and meowed.

@buttermilk: Pineapple here too! I have been buying frozen organic pineapple and just eating the chunks. SO GOOD! Also, frozen mixed berries, topped with some whipped cream.

I was also craving tortellini tonight, so I bought some and brought it home to cook. It smelled like old feet when I opened the package, and even worse in the boiling water!!! I checked the expiration date, and it was okay. DH came in an exclaimed that it smelled SO GOOD, and then I just KNEW: BLUE CHEESE. I HATE BLUE CHEESE. I checked the package, and sure enough, the "5 cheese" blend had blue cheese. WHO DOES THAT?! And WHY wasn't it on the FRONT of the package, rather than hidden in the fine print ingredient list?! I have NEVER seen blue cheese in cheese tortellini before, unless its at some fancy restaurant! UGH! Good news is that the stench boiled off, and they are at least edible. But I will never buy O Sole Mio brand again!

Wow, that really turned into quite the rant!

@autumnlove: I;m sorry you're dealing with that. Fingers crossed for you!

    @LauraBear: Congratulations on the boy!

@OhCaptain: Oddly enough I haven't really had any specific cravings lately. With LO#1 around this time I couldn't get enough raisin bran, fruit, and sour gummy candies. This time around I haven't had any real strong cravings or aversions since the first trimester.

@OhCaptain: Cheese and carbs! I'm pretty sure I could live on lasagna, grilled cheese, and nachos at this point. (Although @Mrs. Microscope: will be glad to hear that my cheese craving does NOT include blue cheese. YUCK!)

@Mrs. Microscope: I have felt the baby move so much lately, and it's been going on now for weeks! DH has yet to feel it, though He isn't quite as patient as he needs to be. He'll put his hand on my stomach for a few minutes and get frustrated! We're going on our trip to San Diego next week so hopefully all that time together will make it happen!!!

@ohCaptain: Yes! Peanut butter chocolate everything. Cookies and cream milkshakes. And thankfully, some healthy things like watermelon and raspberries and I still love raw veggies. I've noticed that all things I've loved in the past (ice cream, pickles, chicken, salt and vinegar potato chips, sour gummy candy) are things I want now but the craving is stronger.

@OhCaptain: I haven't had many clear cravings. I have been LOVING fried eggs though. Every time we go out for breakfast I get some. Yesterday I ate my two, and wanted more so DH gave me one of his. And I still wanted more!
