@bluestriped bee: So cool that you're almost there!!! Make sure your acupuncturist knows you're fasting!
We did partial ICSI and had equal fertilization rates. They sold me on the fact that it would save me $$, if we didn't need ICSI for future cycles.
@momazon: So glad your scratch biopsy was easier this time! Sending good thoughts!

Looks like I'll be back with you lovely ladies again soon. We've been told this pregnancy is not viable, and after a final blood test tomorrow, we stop all meds and hope for a natural miscarriage.
Heart broken all over again.
I just want this over fast.

@FliegepilzHut: Yeah I just want to move on. I hope the pill works too. I haven't taken it yet, but I think I am going to have to. I'm still not spotting or anything.
@jaguar: Oh no! My heart is breaking for you! I am so sad to see this. *hugs*

@jaguar: I am so sorry.. Hang in there. Lots of hugs.
@bluestriped bee: Good luck with ER tomorrow! We did all ICIS, it just made sense for us too. Us ladies go through so much to get as many follicles as we can, why not give yourself the best chance at them all fertilizing?
@momazo- glad the endometrial scratch went well. Hoping it does the trick for you!

@mama2em: Hi! Good to see you over here! To answer your question (from the other post), I have about 6 days of BCPs left and then I'll start meds for a FET (hopefully) just before Thanksgiving!
Where are you in your plans?

@bluestriped bee: Excited for an update from you! Hope everything went great yesterday!! :good luck:
@mama2em: Really excited for you! Things are going to get really busy for us around here in the next couple of weeks!
Hope everyone had a happy Halloween! I'm not really eating much sugar these days but indulged in a few things last night . Started on estrogen patches this morning. Now that it is Nov. 1st, the countdown really begins. FET is less than three weeks away now!!

@GreenThumb: Hugs right back at you! Not long til your FET. xxx
I ate lemon meringue pie for breakfast this morning. Does that answer your question?

Hey guys. Sorry for the delay. All is well here. They retrieved 16 eggs. 12 were mature and 10 fertilized so far. So the RE was planning on doing all 100% ISCI. DH dropped off a sample on Thursday to be frozen for a backup and they told me it was a poor sample. Forgot to ask them for specifics. I think the RE was planning on doing all ICSI and the poor sample made it a done deal. Oh, DH tried to provide a fresh sample, but couldn't. We told them to thaw. I asked them if they could thaw a sample from another collection, if they wanted a better sample. Not sure if they ended up doing that or not. Or if they used the sample from the day before.
So I should get an update on Day 6 to see how many will make it to the freezer.
The procedure went well. Hardly any pain. I took a Tylenol with codeine once yesterday. I was up walking around for Halloween night. Got about 10 trick or treaters. Disappointed there weren't more but it's more than we had over the past 5 years at the apartment.

@FliegepilzHut: @GreenThumb: @mama2em: Seriously so excited for all these Thanksgiving babies in the making!
@bluestriped bee: Thanks for the update. Glad your feeling well. 10 is a great starting point! I wouldn't worry about the sample. ICIS pretty much takes care of the male side of things. Hoping your little embrybabies keep on growing! I can't remember is your transfer the beginning or end of January?

@FliegepilzHut: I have a cold right now so it has been pretty miserable around here but before that I can't complain. I have been feeling generally really good the past month since I've been in second tri and officially done with all my IVF meds. I feel like I always got the stupid side effects to everything!

@jaguar: Lemon meringue pie is definitely a good choice!
@bluestriped bee: Fantastic!! So glad you are feeling good and that you have 10 little embies growing! That is great!!
@Mrs.Pinecone316: Thanks! And so glad to hear that things are going well other than the cold. Hope you feel better soon!

Hello again! I know some of you from the IUI boards, but just wanted to wish everyone good luck. I also wanted to post an update. I'll be starting my first IVF cycle this month (eek)! We had our big consultation appointment with our clinic last Wednesday and it looks like we're ready to move forward.
Next up: Scheduling injection teaching and going in for a baseline ultrasound.
Thinking of you ladies and wishing you the best of

@winter_wonder: Good luck on the next part of your journey!
You guys, I am going MENTAL. I should be 5 weeks now, the pregnancy was deemed non viable last week, and yet no signs of a loss. I feel pregnant, and that's the cruelest joke there is.

@jaguar: I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Does it normally take you a week plus to start bleeding, after they take you off the progesterone supps? After stopping Endometrin after my chemical, it took several days for the bleeding to start, just like it does for me for any cycle with a BFN. For that cycle, the bleeding was similar to a normal period (much much different to my loss a little further along). Have you had to do Provera in the past to bring on a bleed? Had your beta level gone down by much today?
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@momazon: I've taken Provera before and it usually takes 1-2 days to get a bleed after. I stopped a HUGE dose of progesterone (2x 400mg pessaries daily) cold turkey last week, so I just assumed I'd be bleeding by now.
hcg dropped from 86 to 76 last week.. had it drawn again today to see where it's at now. Won't know til tomorrow though.

do any of you lovely ladies have any info re: antral follicle counts? i didn't actually get one on my first ivf cycle (FAILED), but i asked them about it today and they counted 11 total. i am currently on bcp but will be starting lupron/stim meds in a couple of days.
@bluestriped bee: good luck! sounds like the ER went great and hope lots of them make it to freeze! thank you again for the info re: winfertility. you helped me save so much $$ and i will eternally be grateful!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@mama2em: No experience, unfortunately! Did they say how many they expected (or hoped) to see?
grape / 91 posts
@FliegepilzHut: nope, they just said it doesn't really predict how you will stim. i guess it was just something i was curious about so i asked them about it today. i told myself i wouldn't google so much this cycle, but i can't stop myself! ahhh.
nectarine / 2433 posts
@mama2em: I had 11 at my baseline ultrasound for my IVF cycle. Based on my age (30) they wanted to see 15+ but given my borderline DOR and low AMH it was not surprising. I ended up with 17 eggs at retrieval and was on a consistent dose of stims for 9 days. How old are you?
This link has a good explanation! http://www.advancedfertility.com/antralfollicles.htm
nectarine / 2433 posts
@mama2em: I am surprised that they don't think it can help to predict how you will respond to stims, most research has found a correlation and my RE mentioned that they would adjust the dosage of my meds based on my AFC at the baseline appointment.
grape / 91 posts
@mrswin: i'm 32. they told me they've seen it go all over the place- some people had low counts but ended up with a ton of eggs, other people had a higher count and only got half that number in the end. i'm hoping it will be a good indicator for me. i'd be stoked with 11 eggs. not sure if you remember my story, but for my first ivf, i had only 6 follicles and 2 eggs retrieved needless to say, i'm worried about how i will respond this next time around.
