@PurplePumps: OMG Paris! What a fun trip to plan! I hope that travel would be fine at that time, I'm heading to Georgia at the beginning of April and the only issue I anticipate is throwing up more than I'd like, lol.

@sarahnicole218: Yea, I think it should be ok. I should just book it, I'm itching to. I just discovered WOW airline and flights & hotels should be just under 2k for 6 days/5 nights for the both of us. It's a deal I can't pass up! Especially with the euro at an all time low.

@PurplePumps: My SO and I went to Paris a year ago in May and had a fantastic time! Let me know if you have any questions once you start planning the itinerary The only reason I can see the RE not wanting you to be gone then is if they do a 6w ultrasound (mine did) although you could possibly push it out a few days

@mrswin: Yea, I would be ok with having to move a u/s or bloodwork around. We'll have 4 full days there. I have gone before, but 10 years ago and DH has never been. The only thing I have on my itinerary is to see the the big stuff - Eiffel, Louvre (but he doesn't care to go in lol, we both completely do not appreciate art enough), Arch de Triomphe, and Notre Dame. What other things to do or sites did you enjoy? I was thinking of staying in district 7. Do you have any specific hotel or restaurant recommendations?

@sarahnicole218: thread stalker here... I just wanted to see how things turned out for you & YAY!!! HUGE congrats to you lady!

@PurplePumps: I will give it some thought and post a couple things on your wall. We didn't really stay in hotels, we found a great Air B&B near the Arc de Triomphe. It was a studio flat but it was a super easy location to get around from.
One thing we LOVED that I now recommend to everyone is the Catacombes! Seriously, one of the coolest things we did the whole trip and we recommend it to everyone!

@mrswin: oh! That's a good one! That'd be new for me too since I didn't do that last time. I hadn't checked air b&b yet either, will have to do that tonight. We've also decided to extend the trip 4 more days and going to London too!

Well, we have a transfer tentatively booked for next Tuesday - provided they get at least one of my day 1 embryos to grow out to a blasty at day 5. Lining was 9.3.... so now we wait.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@jaguar: Excellent! That'll be here before you know it. Fingers crossed!

@jaguar: Yay for good lining!! FX for your little embie to grow!

@jaguar: Fantastic! I'm so glad to hear that and really excited for your transfer next week! Sending good thoughts your way!! I'll just be a month behind almost exactly!

@PurplePumps: Thread stalker here (I have a cousin with IF who may be doing IVF soon, so I like to understand as much as I can), and just wanted to say that we went to Paris and London in May 2 years ago and it was great. I was 7-8 weeks pregnant at the time, and aside from being more tired at night, I didn't have any issues. Also, we stayed at a great little place near the Arc in Paris that I highly recommend. I don't have the info, but DH should when he gets home. It was just someone's home that they rented out part of, but they were able to close off their part so you never saw them if you didn't need to. It wasn't fancy, but it was nice, and so much more fun than just staying at a hotel. They also provided breakfast, which was delicious, and they were super sweet people. I'll let you know the info later so you can look into it if you're interested!

Ack. I don't know what to do. My husbands business trip just got pushed to the week that I was aiming to do a retrieval. His trips always have the worse timing. He doesn't HAVE to go, but he wanted to go (he likes travel, good mileage for us, and lots of overtime.) It was perfect cause he was going to go next week and be back for all of April for the cycle.
So now... we can proceed with April cycle and he skips his trip. Pros: less waiting for impatient little me. Cons: he can't go on the trip, and we don't get the extra overtime cash to pay for this. Or we just wait until June to try again. Pros: He can go on the trip, and I won't be thinking about suppositories on our vacation. Cons: 2 months of waiting. The other thing is that I JUST started the coq10/Ubiquinol so would it be more beneficial to wait longer while taking that? ugh, no idea what to do!

@GreenThumb: @FliegepilzHut: Thank you ladies! Beta was at 188 (10dp5dt), the doc said that was good and that I'll do a repeat beta on Monday to check for doubling!
@PurplePumps: I feel like I have no useful advice for you, but I wish you luck in making your decision!! I love pro-con lists, they help me process so much!!!
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@PurplePumps: I may not be the best one to give advice, cause my little break has turned into a year+ long break, haha, but I think I'd wait til June for all the reasons you mentioned ($$, stress-free vacation, and give the CoQ10 a chance to work). If you can stand it!
@sarahnicole218: congratulations!! I was sort of expecting your beta to be 113, since 13 as been such a lucky # for you this cycle, but 188 is even better
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@sarahnicole218: Yay!!!
@PurplePumps: I would like to think that, in your position, I would wait-- I find your pro sides pretty compelling! I know this is a tough decision, though.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@Shutterbug: Haha, good point! That would have been weird...but yes, I will take 188!

@sarahnicole218: Slow response from me. Sorry, morning sickness is kicking my butt. Congrats!!
@PurplePumps: would you ever consider freezing his guys so you could still do the retrieval? I know fresh is better but my retrieval was done with frozen guys. But I can also see why you want to wait for the CoQ10 to work. I think I was on 800 mg of CoQ10. It was two big orange pills.

@jaguar: crossing my fingers and toes for your transfer next week!!!

@PurplePumps: catching up... So cool about your Paris trip!! I have family in France and I went there during the summer of senior year. It was an awesome trip. We (DH and I) want to go to Europe to see my family in France and we have friends in London.
So with your DH going on a trip in April and you might be waiting on the retrieval, did this change your Paris trip?

So do you think not hearing from the scientists at my clinic means that things are ok?
I asked them to get in touch with me to let me know how my day 1 embies thawed on Friday & never heard back from them. Of course, I automatically panicked and assumed the worst.
Today would be day 3... I'm just so nervous that I won't have anything to transfer/left over on Tuesday.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@jaguar: They will definitely give you a call Monday, right (day before transfer)? I think that they typically do look at embies on Day#3...but not all clinics have "normal" weekend hours. FX that you get some reassurance very soon!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@FliegepilzHut: I honestly have NO idea!!!! My nails are all bitten off.
pear / 1986 posts
@jaguar: Oh no! I'm so sorry they didn't call to give you an update! That stinks! I think that no update means that everything looks good. I think they would have told you if there was a problem. Sending good thoughts your way and hope the weekend goes really fast so you can get an update on Monday!

@bluestriped bee: Thank you! I hope you start feeling better soon!

@jaguar: That sucks, but I agree that no news is USUALLY good news...fingers crossed!
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@jaguar: oh hon! I think they would have called you with bad news... But you think they would have honored your request for notification.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
Thanks guys, I hope so too.
I'm tossing up ringing tomorrow (Monday here - embies would hopefully be at day 4) and seeing what's happened and if we're on track.
Or just waiting til Tuesday and trying to stay positive, not knowing.
What would you do?
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@jaguar: I would call. You definitely have a right to know how your embies are doing!
pear / 1986 posts
@jaguar: I think you should call on Monday for sure! It will ease your mind so your transfer can be as stress-free as possible. I'd be up all night Monday if I didn't know.
