    @endymion4: Gosh those are some tough decisions. Do you or your SO have any strong feelings one way or the other about using a GC?

  2. endymion4

    apricot / 365 posts

    @yellowbeach: I mean, I'd love to be able to carry myself, but my end goal is baby, so i'm not opposed to using a GC. I just wish the odds were a little higher and it felt more like, oh of course it's going to work with a GC, so we should do that. I also wish I didn't know so many people who have had GCs that ended up with negative betas or m/c

    Baseline was done yesterday and had my highest AFC ever at 19!! I'm usually at 9-10. My dr said he felt like I was a whole new patient. Very happy and optimistic start to the cycle.

    @LibbyLou: Wow! that's great!
    @SweetiePie: Thanks

    Good news....Looks like I finally o'd CD33! Bad news, I totally misread my CM (definitely was NOT EWCM) and didn't make an effort to have sex and totally wasn't in the mood all week so we didn't even give ourselves a shot. UGh, I feel like such an idiot. DH wanted to too cause he said "we have to try every other day!" and I kept telling him "it's not the right time". Oh well.....

    @SweetiePie: @Mrs. Pajamas: @PurplePumps: @endymion4: Thank you all! I know not to expect good news at every turn during this cycle so just taking the good news now!

    Ugh, so turns out I'm on CD40 now and still no O. What I thought was my temp spike must have been a slight fever plus the night that I forgot to turn my heated mattress pad off. Not that we have a chance to try anyways since DH will be away for 2 weeks now. And for crying out loud I hope this cycle ends SOON! I ordered my meds from ivfpharmacy for the first time. They approved the order in about 36 hours, now I'm just waiting for the shipments. This saves about 1100 on my Gonal and Ganierlix!

    Was trucking along fine in my cycle but today's labs are wonky. CD 8 and he thinks I'm starting to surge. LH was 26 estrogen 1079. He upped my menopur but kept me on 425 of gonal.

    I'm off to google....

    Looks like I had an anovulatory 40 day cycle that finally ended! I can’t start yet though cause my DH is out of town until the 28th! UGH! I’m not sure what to do yet, maybe go in BC so i don’t have to wait for another long cycle to start, but i didn’t really want to be on meds prior to starting.

    Hey ladies - I'm gonna jump in here. This looks like the only active thread on the infertility board.

    we started trying for #2 (dd is 22 months old now) back in July. I have PCOS and took clomid and got pregnant on the second month, but then had a miscarriage in October. The first cycle after that I didn't ovulate and got a 7cm cyst on my ovary. The next month I ovulated with femara and got BFN, then the 3rd month I ovulated with femara and just got another BFN and am starting to spot for my next cycle.

    To complicate things, DH had a bump on his testicle so he went to get it checked out and turns out it was an infection, so they put him on antibiotics. Then last night at 3am i couldn't sleep so i googled it and found a few studies showing antibiotics can mess with sperm count and could possibly affect the DNA of the sperm. So now i'm freaking out about that we'll have to stop trying for 3 months while his sperm regenerate or something. But I can't get a hold of my doctor since it's a weekend, so i'm not sure if i should hold off on taking femera this month or if he should discontinue the antibiotics or if we should just proceed as normal.

    I'm really really struggling with ever further away potential due dates passed the date i was "supposed" to have of May before i miscarried. I'm not a patient person and am really struggling with the waiting and am trying to be better with self-care, but I keep getting in my head.

    @LaughLines: so sorry to welcome you here. Sounds like you have gone through a lot since trying for #2. Hopefully you won't stay long with us.

    AFM- my ivf cycle went pretty well! My progesterone was too high for a fresh transfer so will be doing FET next cycle. I'm waiting final report tomorrow on how many embryos made it to freeze. I appreciate any extra prayers/thoughts. We had 7 fertilize and 4 made it to day 3 so hoping they all hang on.
    My period also started today on CD 18! So I'm starting bcp right away. I'm so happy it didn't drag on and we can get going with FET.

    @SweetiePie: Hi! I'm 7 days into stims. My E2 levels are acting "normal" this time so hopefully we won't have a repeat of that crappy fertilization. My belly is miserable though this time for some reason, it's all bruised and drawing blood everytime! ugh. Just a few more days 4 shots a night!

    Is it bad that I almost fall asleep at the u/s the last few times. I'm laying there for like 30 minutes, straining my eyes to look at the monitor, it's dark, there's incense in the office.... and I swear I could just doze off.... even with the probe up in my business. I think I'm getting WAY too used being probed.... lol

    @PurplePumps I totally understand and I LOVE that you shared this. I had my anatomy scan today and they did a transvag u/s to double check the position of my placenta and the u/s tech was all nervous and explaining it to me, telling me to take my time getting undressed, and I'm like "please, this is like eating breakfast for IVFers" just stick that wand in and let's get on with it so I can get back to work. thanks". Hope everything is going well. When is retrieval expected? Thinking of you....

    @Libbylou congrats on 3 frosties! That's great news! Are you doing PGD pre-transfer?

  25. PurplePumps

    pomegranate / 3809 posts

    @Mrs. Pajamas: LOL, like eating breakfast. Pretty much. At my last retrieval, the anesthesiologist was going over the consents and explaining it to me, and I'm just like.. yeah, this isn't my first time at the rodeo, let's just get on with it, time for my nap.

    I'm triggering tonight for Wed retrieval. I have about 19 measurable follicles over 12mm.

    Hi I was an active member of Hellobee and I now have a 3 year old. We are experiencing Secondary infertility. I'm now 41 have DOR.

    Cycle #1 was cancelled due to slow response.
    Cycle #2 changed protocol. Retrieved 8 eggs. 5 mature and fertilized, 3 made it to day 5 and then stopped growing due to the quality of egg.
    My doctor is suggesting we change the protocol from Estrogen priming, with femara, 150 menopur, 300 gonal F, Cetrotude to
    Estrogen priming, microdose lupron, HGH, 150 menopur, 450 gonal F.

    Has any one had success with the HGH? Did it improve the quality of eggs?

    Or is there anything else that has helped you to improve the quality of your eggs?

    Thanks!

    @PurplePumps: good luck today!!!

    @Honeydew: Sorry you have to be here! We're also secondary infertility (I have an almost 4 1/2 year old), but unexplained, so hopefully some of the others will chime in with tips for egg quality!

    @SweetiePie: @momazon: @endymion4: @Mrs. Pajamas: Thanks ladies! Everything went as usual today (a good thing). We walked around the city and had lunch right after, and I was doing well enough to make the 4 hour drive home. Sadly, between my sick feverish husband and me, I was the one in better shape to drive haha. 25 eggs, 9 mature, I think 7 M1 (which they will try to fertilize, but they usually end up not going anywhere), and the rest GV. 9's a good start, as long as they fertilize normally this time! I'll be anxiously waiting for that report tomorrow.... eeeeeeekkkk
