Still looking good ladies! I'll trigger tonight at 9pm for Monday 9am retrieval. I'm so excited!
My E2 today was 3057 which is significantly higher than the other rounds (around double). Do you guys put any stock in the "200 per mature follicle" rule?

The doc I saw this morning isn't my usual but I've had her before and really like her. I like my doc but generally I find the women give me way more info and have a better bedside manner - they turn the screen so I can see it, count follies and show me measurements, etc.
Anyway she said so many positive things it felt like a dream. She just said "excellent" over and over and she doesn't know my previous cycle history so it's not like she said "excellent" in relation to my crappy cycles. It was a true excellent. She said "this is exactly what we like to see" and even commented that I'm probably feeling a lot of discomfort (which made me feel good because it means she's seeing enough to warrant it). Before they were just kinda quiet and like "well we'll see!"
It's just so unlike the last two I still can't believe it.
Sorry to be gushing I'm just so surprised and no one else knows we're doing this! And even if they did they wouldn't understand.

    @SweetiePie: good luck today!!

I'm having some spotting and mild cramping...ugh. I'm off to my second blood test but not super optimistic

  15. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@skiierchck99: Cramping can be so so so normal as can spotting! I was crampy the entire first trimester with my son and it can be a really uneasy feeling.
Good luck with your draw and I'll have everything crossed for a great number!

@skiierchck99: I'm sorry for the uncertainty, it sucks so much that we go through all we go through and still have to be scared all the time.
While the number feels disconcerting, another bee just had this happen a couple of weeks ago and suddenly the betas started doubling as they should, she just had a slow start. Be hopeful but prepared. We're here for you no matter what!
I'll be keeping you in my prayers!

@SweetiePie: wow that's amazing! Weren't you thinking more like 7? Congrats!! Will you test them?

  28. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@yellowbeach: Yeah! My last 2 cycles they thought they saw like 2-3 and 3-4 and they got 8 and 6 respectively. This time they saw 7-ish and got 17! Because of the previous 2 cycles I figured they'd get a little more than 7 but I was like "maybe 10. 10 would be amazing". I never would have guessed 17!
Either they really are conservative in their scans (underpromise/overdeliver) OR my ovaries are really good at hiding follicles!
Should get the fert report this morning and I can't wait!

@SweetiePie: A Black Lab : ) We bought a house in January and are super excited to be able to get a dog after years of renting.

I'm ok today...had a good cry yesterday but trying to look forward to a FET. Talked to my nurse today who said they'll test my HCG down to zero before moving forward on that so hopefully it will fall quickly - I'm ready to get this show on the road

@skiierchck99: so sorry about your loss. did you do PGD testing on your frozen embryos? I know it's pricey but we eventually caved after 2 failed FETs and it was so worth it for peace of mind! I'm so excited to see pics of your puppy! Labs are the best. What a fun distraction!

  35. skiierchck99

    kiwi / 518 posts

@Mrs. Pajamas: No My RE said it isn't covered by insurance and isn't recommended unless there is a history of loss. Because of moderate to severe MFI we've never even had a positive till now, so there's no real history. I wish we had now....Dr. Google tells me there's no real good way to do it once frozen without a thaw and refreeze which compromises the quality further...hoping it will eventually work out w/o it but if need be I will go through another stim cycle.

  36. Mrs. Pajamas

    kiwi / 702 posts

@skiierchck99: Actually your situation sounds exactly like mine. We had severe mfi but were successful on cycle 1 of fresh ivf...now my 2 yo dd. Trying for #2 we had 2 failed fets then decided to thaw and test our remaining embryos because it was so devastating. No other reason at all to test that's why we didn't before. All survived the thaw, testing, and refreeze and we had success on the next fetime after testing. I'm due in june. My re was not worried about the testing on frozen embryos at all.

@Mrs. Pajamas: Super interesting, will definitely have to ask my RE - thanks for your thoughts! I'm inclined to try one FET without testing I think...though it seems like there is a chance the polyp I had removed regrew...nobody has addressed it yet but I saw notes on the ultrasounds for the follicles. So, I may end up with another polypectomy before I move forwar! Oh the joy.

@skiierchck99: definitely try again...most women do better with FET vs. Fresh and 1 loss is no biggie...just wanted to share my experience since it was not the norm for pgd plus the mfi we have in common.

  39. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@skiierchck99: I also PGD tested a frozen embryo. My circumstances are different. PGD is the sole reason I have to do IVF. My first cycle we were able to biopsy and freeze 8 embryos. 1 was normal and he's my now 2.4yo. 2 summers ago when my son was about 9 months old, my RE called me out of the blue and said I still had a frozen embryo that had come back inconclusive the first time. I had no idea - I saw inconclusive on the report but I thought that basically meant it was no good since no one said a word about it to me at the time. Actually the word wasn't inconclusive I can't remember what word they used but anyway. I thought all 7 that weren't my "normal" son were discarded.
So we decided last year to go ahead and thaw, rebiopsy, and refreeze that embryo. It went perfectly, but unfortunately it was abnormal.
My RE also had no concerns at all with testing s frozen embryo. He said of course there's a risk of losing it in the process but that's true of the entire IVF process - even on fresh embryos it can be lost during biopsy or freeze and a frozen embryo can sometimes not survive thaw. So he didn't see it as being much ADDED risk, if that makes sense.

I am also a huge advocate of PGD. I have to do it But if I didn't I still would. Obviously it doesn't guarantee success, but for me I would want as much of an increased chance as possible. We all pay so much (financially, physically, emotionally) during this process and I want to do everything I can to get a positive result.

    Anyway there's my spiel.

I had 2 losses before IVF (they are the reason why I'm doing IVF) so if you need to talk to anyone feel free to wall me.
