@HappyBluebird: thank you so much for reassuring me. I am so hopeful that we will get good news next week, so I am just going to try to focus on that hope for now

Please tell me you DTD in the first trimester and your baby was ok.... I know research says it's perfectly safe but I can't imaging all that jostling is good, especially if doctors prescribe pelvic rest for some people

@DesertDreams88: Yes, everything was fine! I did have some first trimester bleeding related to U/S and or any other kind of mild cervical trauma...but I'm chalking that up to extra "sensitivity" from my FET meds!

@DesertDreams88: it's perfectly fine but I never much feel like it since I'm mauseous 24/7. But we have a couple times.

Things are good over here. I'm 8w5d and had an ultrasound yesterday that showed my little gummibear growing ahead of schedule and heart beating away.

@DesertDreams88: I was really nervous about it too even though the Dr said it was perfectly fine. We've DTD a few times since overall I haven't been feeling very good and definitely not in the mood! I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and all is perfect with baby!

@travellingbee: Yay for a great scan! Glad things are going well!

AFM, I had the NT scan this morning and we got to see the baby. He/She looks like a baby finally! Measurements look good, just waiting on the blood work results. We saw the baby sucking on their thumb and drinking! It was amazing to see them moving around in there and we got some good pictures!

    Hope everyone is doing great!

@travellingbee: Hooray for a good ultrasound!

    @HappyBluebird: So happy to hear!!!

I'm now firmly in the third trimester...my due date is in exactly 11weeks! Little guy seems to be doing well, still very wiggly in there. I'll have a repeat ultrasound Wednesday to follow up on a borderline finding on one of the kidneys from our anatomy scan.

@DesertDreams88: It's perfectly safe! I didn't much feel like having sex but your cervix is closed so there is no risk.

@HappyBluebird: Are you really already 13 weeks?! Time flies! Yay for second tri!
@FliegepilzHut: Congratulations on the third tri! So exciting!

@simplyfelicity: I can't believe it either! Feels like time is flying and going slow at the same time!

    @FliegepilzHut: 11 weeks to go! That's exciting!

@HappyBluebird: tell me about it! I have five weeks left which feels like both a blink and an eternity.

Every time this thread pops up, it makes me so happy. I'm so excited for each of your little ones. 37 weeks tomorrow for me--crazy!

My toddler keeps calling him "my baby," and says adorable things like "I so excited my baby coming." And "Baby hurry up." And also has most recently named baby brother "hot dog." He has also been laying out all of baby's (well, his old) toys and pretending to play with the baby with them. It's totally sweet. Poor kid, it's going to totally rock his world to get a sibling

Can I do a quick name poll? (I don't want to do a "real" one.) Thoughts on the name Ryland?

  12. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@Jess1483: so close! I'm so excited for you! Your DS is adorable! I love the name Ryland! I tend to like names that aren't super common but at the same time it's not a name that no one had heard of. Unfortunately for me DH loves classic names so I think we have a battle on our hands if this is a girl (DH wants a Jr if it's a boy)

@simplyfelicity: @HappyBluebird: Thanks, ladies! I agree-- it seems as if time is moving slowly...and then the weeks FLY by!

@simplyfelicity: ONLY 5 weeks left??? WOW!

@Jess1483: Yay!!! Since you're asking, I think I prefer Rylan (without the -d)...unless he has a namesake? How do you feel about nn Ry or Riley (would be inevitable in my household)?

  14. Jess1483

    nectarine / 2641 posts

@FliegepilzHut: from my vast amounts of research, it seems Rylan is more common for girls, and the d makes it a male name. We like Rye as a nn. Not so much Riley because the only Riley's I've known are girls. LO1 is Pierce. Our back-up is Everett, but I feel like it's getting really trendy. I'm so conflicted!

ETA: thanks for the input! I promise not to be offended if ppl don't like it. It will just be a sign that I'm sure about it

So, I'm 7w1d and so excited for an US on Monday, and start bleeding today right after my Drs office closes.

If you pray, pray for me and our little one. I didn't want to get too attached before the sono, but you know how that goes...

  16. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@MaryM: Oh no! Is it heavy bleeding? I'm so sorry for that stress for you. I had light spotting around that same time with my son and it was no big deal. I'm not much of a pray-er, but I will send all good thoughts your way.

  17. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@travellingbee: it was heavier than spotting (went through my underwear) but I think it's stopped? Waiting for dh to get here with maxi pads and I'll probably let him decide if he wants to head to the ER or not

@MaryM: ugh blood is such an awful sight. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you.

@MaryM: oh friend, I'm sending lots of prayers for you and LO.

@MaryM: If it were me, I would call the off hours line for your OBGN (the on-call dr). They'll let you know if they think you should go to the emergency room.

  21. lauren0817

    apricot / 369 posts

@MaryM: oh I'm so sorry this is happening I had heavy bleeding at 5 weeks (huge gushes of blood) and I am 8 weeks now and everything seems okay so far. I know how scary it is, but try to stay positive. I am thinking of you and hoping for good news soon.

  22. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@travellingbee: I did. She said we could go if we're worried. Well, no shit we're worried! But I'm wondering if we should just wait and see (but also scared of sleeping on these white hotel sheets tonight! We bought our house today, but don't move in until tomorrow)

  23. DesertDreams88

    grapefruit / 4361 posts

@marym: Oh no, my stomach immediately clenched seeing your post!! How scary and sad right now, but I pray your fears are relieved soon and your baby is healthy and you get to see them on Monday. I def. think calling the on call doctor would be good.

  24. lauren0817

    apricot / 369 posts

@MaryM: do you have any cramping or pain? It's a hard decision since it's a Friday afternoon - I was thinking about going to urgent care, but they probably dont have an ultrasound machine. Hang in there - we are all thinking of you

  25. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@MaryM: If you want my honest opinion, I'd go to the hospital because I wouldn't be able to deal with the anxiety of waiting until Monday to know what was going on. That said, there isn't much they can do at this point either way so all it will do is give you an answer sooner. If you feel like you can be positive and wait until Monday, that is definitely the less expensive option. If you are prone to terrible anxiety like me, maybe go to the ER.

  26. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@lauren0817: not really? I had some pain earlier today, but I'm pretty sure it was because I had to poop (sorry, tmi)

  27. lauren0817

    apricot / 369 posts

@MaryM: well that's a great sign - and it sounds like the bleeding is slowing which is also great. I know what you mean about gas pains though - I am hypersensitive to every little thing. I agree with @travellingbee - I think I would be a nervous wreck all weekend. Let us know what you decide.

  28. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Jess1483: I consulted the baby wizard and they felt like Ryland was a surname... Everett is adorable, BTW! Even "popular" names are so much less common (in the population), it seems, than they used to be!

@MaryM: If it was less than enough to soak a pad...I might wait. I had a couple of early scares with bleeding and contacted my dr. at the time...I'm afraid that a TVUS would have just made the bleeding start up again. So sorry that you're dealing with this!

  29. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

We've talked it over and are going to wait and see. The added stress of an ER US and unclear results doesn't seem worth it right now as long as the bleeding was a one time thing. If I keep bleeding, we'll reconsider

@Jess1483: That is sooooo sweet!!! This thread makes me so happy, too. Can't believe it's been 37 weeks, time has flown.
I personally prefer Everett and I like is goes AMAZINGLY with Pierce. The name Ryland reminds me of Roland but, if you love it, do it!

  33. Torchwood

@Jess1483: I'll be honest, I'm not a fan. But only because I've never heard it before, so it just sounds made up. I *think* if I was more familiar with it I would like it as much as I like any newer sounding name. And I like the nn Riley, but I think of it as a boy name because it's my cousin's name, and he's a boy. I've known both.

@MaryM: Not a prayer either, but sending you all the hugs and positive thoughts. Hoping for a good update Monday!

    Thank you all!

I had some spotting earlier but it was dark. I'm hoping it was just left over from last night.

I sat on a couch (once one came in) and told the movers where to put things. Dh and I got the beds put together and if that's all we do today, I'm happy
