DS (who is one-month-old) has been on a nursing strike for about a week now. We have had a ton of BFing issues from the start and the LC suggested we see an ENT for a possible tongue tie. In the meantime, she suggested I just pump and bottle feed to give my nipples a chance to heal.
We saw the ENT today and he did have a tongue tie as well as a lip tie. We had both corrected. I was desperately hoping that this would help our issues but he still refuses to nurse.
I was able to get him to nurse briefly on one side on two occasions today, both of which were in between feedings. Both of which also began and ended with a screaming baby. He is getting milk because I can hear him swallow. He won't even attempt on my left side.
I am at a complete loss. This BFing journey has me emotionally drained. I just don't know what to do.
Has anyone else successfully brought a baby back to the breast when he prefers bottles? Please tell me this can be done. I am going to be heartbroken if I have to stop completely.
