Car seat and sugary drinks! Juice is like a twice a year treat in our house.

Sleep. I get crap for planning the day around his nap and bedtime. When I get a rude comment I just ask them if they'd like to come over 2 hours past nap/bedtime and deal with an outrageously fussy baby. No? K, shut up then

@Foodnerd81: I'm glad that I'm not missing something with FF being easier... I'm like, you still have to buckle her in the same? And she likes rear facing so it's not like she's fighting it or something...
And we are flipping around DD a little after her third birthday for the same reason. New baby is coming and we can't fit two RF car seats and have DH be able to put the seat back far enough to drive.

@wrkbrk: Yes! I almost had a heart attack when I saw someone on my Facebook post a picture of their fresh out of the hospital newborn sleeping in a crib with a big fluffy pillow, big fluffy comforter, a bumper, and stuffed animals!

The number of "vaccine" responses on this thread stand out ... Do you all mean you're picky about LO staying on schedule ... or that you're critical of all people regarding vaccines?
LO is vaccinated, but it's not something I'd say I'm "picky" about -- We just chose what was right for our family. And, it doesn't bother me if I find out someone's LO is not vaccinated.
Asking earnestly ... out of curiosity.

Hmm, I can't really think of a lot. Car seat safety, obviously. I go over all the rules with my ILs so they know how to put her in properly.
I don't have to be picky about smoke exposure because no one I know smokes. If they did, that would be an absolute as well.
I mess up the schedule and routine all the time.

Vaccines - I've actually lost a good friend regarding my pro-vaccine stance.....
No sweets before 1.
Other than that I'm pretty flexible....naps are always hit and miss with my LO anyways. Although I'm generally able to make sure that I'm home at a reasonable time for bedtime though.

Car seats, for sure. DH's aunt was telling us that she picks up her granddaughter after school, and the car seat is a pain so she only clicks in one side. They are only going "a mile down the road." I almost fainted. Even typing that out makes my stomach queasy.
I would have to say non-toxic products is high on my picky list (baby wash, diapers, wipes, cleaning products, etc)

What my LO eats and is exposed to. We aim for mostly organic, healthy food and avoid chemicals/toxins in clothes, toys, etc.

@littlejoy: I firmly believe that everyone should have all vaccines on the appropriate schedule unless there is a medical reason why they are unable to receive them (allergies, immunocompromise, etc.).

Her hair being pulled back from her eyes! She hardly has hair, and I still pull it back. It's a safety thing at school. It makes me crazy when other toddlers run around with hair in their eyes so they can't see.
Also, properly fitting and good shoes. I don't care if they're expensive.
I wouldn't say I'm a fanatic about the car seat, but I do like to check when someone else has out her in. We've flipped back and forth from RF to FF several times for long trips, and I can't bring myself to leave her FF quite yet. It's funny, though, because I would find it totally reasonable for someone else to flip FF if they felt they needed to. I just can't do it myself yet! It's for the good, but I feel weird about it aometimes.

@HLK208: @mstador84: @princessbaby: yes to this!! Kids can get messy, and that's great. But take a second to wipe their faves!

My kid is the with one with messy hair and sometimes a bit of something on her face. She pulls out every clip we put in her hair and has a complete meltdown when her face is wiped. We do our best but sometimes "mostly crumb-free" is the best for everyone's sanity. And I'm OK with that. I'm sure there are moms out in public that give us the side-eye and just assume bad parenting but I don't have time to care about what others think.
As for me, I'm picky about her receiving Disney and other heavily character/marketing-driven toys and clothing. If she asks to play with that stuff (which, hello, I'm sure she will) then I'll have a convo with her about what she likes about it and we'll decide if she needs it. Otherwise, at this age (1.5), we prefer simple toys that inspire creativity and imagination without all the branding.

Car seat safety and food. My parents will tell you I am crazy about car seat safety, that they survived and I survived. ::insert eye roll here:: In terms of food, my boys are gluten, dairy, HFCs, egg free. So I try to make as much from scratch as possible because I can control the ingredients in their diet. Cheating on any one of our food things can really set us up for a horrible week or longer.

@MRSHONEYBEAR: Oh yes (other then the obvious car seat and her schedule) the branded/character thing is huge for me too. I don't stress about it or get mad if somebody else buys her something but I choose to not buy toys and clothes like that at this point. I figure we'll have more then enough time when she's old enough to ask for that stuff so right now when she doesn't know the difference I'll avoid it while I can.

@MRSHONEYBEAR: @xInfinity: Me too. We don't watch kid's tv shows or buy branded character stuff. (Have you managed to find any non-branded pull-ups, btw?) I am not planning any family vacations to the big D either. That sounds like a miserable way to spend my precious time off, tbh.
I am dreading the peer pressure on this topic. It's already annoying that my parents are not especially supportive.
