Lucy figured out how to drink from a straw at 5 months, but lately she's started taking what's in her mouth and just letting it dribble out down her chin and front. It's so frustrating - the milk gets EVERYWHERE and I know she knows how to drink properly. I tried giving her a sippy instead of a straw, water instead of milk, and she does the same thing. Someone please tell me this is a short phase and she'll stop soon!

If I ignored it she stopped doing it. If I made a big deal, she kept right on doing it. Drove me nuts! Now we are at the dropping the cup on the floor phase.

My lo is 14 months and still doing this, it got to be so bad that I gave her the bottle back. She only does it with sippy and straw cups.

For our little guy it was a short lived phase that came and went a couple times around that age. I can't explain why but it seemed like each time was linked to a new tooth cutting. Could just be a coincidence though! We just ignored it.

Oh and also - the tommee tippy bib with the pouch that collects food and liquid was a lifesaver for the mess!

Mine did that the first week with WCM, she quickly stopped after her first birthday when she discoverer how wonderful milk is with birthday cake.
