Apparently a 16 lb. baby was born in CA this past August. It wasn't until a 15 lb. baby was announced as the biggest that they decided to come forward. The mom gained 110 lb. during her pregnancy.

I can't get over the fact that he left the hospital wearing 12mo. clothes!! And is as tall as a 6 year old?!
ETA: His siblings weighed 8 lb., 9 oz (sister), 12 lb., 4 oz. and 11 lb., 1 oz. (brothers).

Man, every time I hear one of these I cringe. I had a 10.5lb baby and gained 65lbs, and I can't even imagine birthing one even bigger.

I'm amazed! And here I am worried since my midwife said this baby will probably be bigger than R was. She was 7.11 and I think that is big!

@pui: You might be fine! I was over 9lbs, but LO was on the small side at 6lbs 12oz. Both of us were full term.

I'm 5', did not gain anywhere close to 110lbs, and my baby was almost 9 lbs and I thought I was HUGE at the end...I can't even imagine!
