Did/do you have it planned out? What was yours?
I can't decide on what I want... I'm just dreaming of the day when I can safely have one again 
My first one was about 2 weeks after I had DD. I'm sure it will take me that long to have one again after DD2 is born.

Hah...I did plan mine out, but it didn't end up going as planned. I was so exhausted by the time we got home that I just wanted to sleep all the time. I think my first drink post baby was a glass of wine while I was pumping

When I am done pumping at one year I think I will have a glass of wine! Which will make me totally wasted I'm sure

I didn't plan it out, but I sure enjoyed it. I drank a glass of wine, slowly, as I was nursing (so to maximize time for it to get out of my system before the next feeding).
I never understood people who bring a nice bottle of champagne or something to the hospital. All I wanted was gallons of ice water or juice, I definitely did not want champagne, and I even more didn't want to open a nice bottle that I'd only get to have a tiny glass of!

I drank sooner than I planned. My dad poured me a glass of wine the night we brought LO home from the hospital. The LC that taught my BFing class was laid back about drinking so I drank it without a second thought.

@Foodnerd81: haha. My DH brought a bottle of Sauv Blanc to the hospital the night we had LO. I only had a couple of sips but man did it taste heavenly!!

My mom brought champagne to the hospital and we all had a glass! Nothing says "celebration" like good bubbly!

I think it was a month after LO was born that I had a Guinness. I dreamed of beer and wine before that. In the 16 months since LO was born, I really haven't done a lot of drinking other than a wedding in October. The cocktails were so good at this wedding, I couldn't resist. It was rough waking up for morning routine with LO the next day though.

@cascademom: Yes that's the toughest part of drinking when you're a parent of new/small children.

The night I got home from the hospital - wedding champagne with our parents! I was so tired I don't even remember it.

We had a really good bottle of champagne waiting for us when we got home from the hospital. I was so tired that I really didn't want it but DH was excited and my parents were over so we popped it. I had a little but all I wanted was just to go to bed.

@BabyBoecksMom: I think it's partly why both DH and I really don't drink much anymore. The hangover sucks, but parenting while hungover or tired is much harder.

I remember wanting a margarita in the hospital when my friends brought me dinner from my favorite mexican restaurant - too bad they don't do that with take out, haha
My actual first drink post-baby was red wine at a paint night when DS was 6 weeks old. I remember timing it perfectly around pumping/nursing - feels like soo long ago now (DS is 2!)

I wanted a gray goose dirty martini. I went on and on about this throughout my pregnancy. My sweet DH surprised me with one the day we got home from the hospital, but honestly at that point it was the last thing I wanted, lol! I drank some of it anyway though, just because I could

I didn't have my first drink until LO was around 4 months old. It was a mimosa and it was so good! I'm not a huge drinker and LO nurses a lot so I was always paranoid. Coffee on the other hand...I had that the day after I delivered!

Oh wait, now I remember that my parents brought me champagne and wine in the hospital! I think I sipped some, but I was so deliriously tired that it was totally unappetizing.

@lawbee11: I think a huge latte will be the first "off limits" drink I want after giving birth too! I haven't had real coffee (non-decaf) in so long!
But the first alcoholic drink I'll want is definitely a beer. All I want right now is an Old Speckled Hen, yum!

I still haven't! Probably when they are around ten? if ever! We don't really drink anymore and haven't for several years ...I drank a LOT in college. I was more craving soft eggs, blue cheese, sushi, highlights. ..
